Hey guys,

I know alot of poeple asked about this kind of thing, but all that's left to buy is the power supply and I'm not sure which one to buy.

Here the setup I need to power:

Athlon 64 3200+ w/Silent Boost K8 HSF
MSI K8T NEO-FIS2R
2x512 Corsair XMS 3200C2 Pro w/leds
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
120GB SATA Western Digital w/8MB cache

Ok, here are the PSU's I can't decide between:

Enermax EG465P-VE FC
Antec TRUE POWER 550W
Vantec Stealth 520W

the last one was the Antec TrueBlue 480W, but from the stories I've heard of them blowing up and slaughtering your CPU and mobo. along with it, I don't think I want to risk frying my new Rig, my Rig is more important than a couple of led fans and I can make up for that with cathodes, so I guess the TrueBlue is out of the picture.

I'm not saying it's no good, I'm happy for the poeple that have had good luck with it, but I'm not going to risk it.

Anyway,

my first choice is the Vantec Stealth 520W, only thing with the Vantec is the cables aren't sleeved and there are no SATA connectors, but I already have the adapter with my board and I can use spiral wrap and Split Loom Flexible Tubing for the ATX connector cable, second is the Enermax EG465P-VE FM and last is the Antec TRUE POWER 550W.

I know they're all great PSU's, but I'd still appreciate a bit of feedback before going for one.

Don't worry, I'm not new at this stuff, been elbow deep in computers for 8 years now, lol, I know all of these PSU's have excellent specs, but I never owned one of these brands and need a few opinions from those who have experience with them.

Thanks in advance everyone. :-))

Regards,

Frank

Ya,

Should I get the Enermax EG465P-VE FC, it has Copper Shielding Tube on "Main power, +12V, AUX and additional +12V power connector for better effect to reduce EMI and Gold Connectors on all Cables, its better than the EG465P-VE FM.

So should I go for this one, so far it seems like the best choice

Let me know....

Regards,

Frank

Oh ya, is about $100 Canadian the right price?? if so is it still a great PSU even though it's less expensive.

Well to be exact it's about $95 Canadian on eBay.ca right now, if it's a great PSU, I'm gonna go ahead and buy it now.

Watch out with them, they have 2 versions!!!!

The latest (and one you should have) has 33A @ 12V....
The old one doesn't do that much....

But C$ 100 seems a normal price to me....

On eBay, the specs say 33a on the +12, I'll make sure to e-mail them too, to make sure.

If so, I guess I can go ahead and buy it?? to run:

Athlon 64 3200+ w/Silent Boost K8 HSF
MSI K8T NEO-FIS2R
2x512 Corsair XMS 3200C2 Pro w/leds
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
120GB SATA Western Digital w/8MB cache

If it's a green light I'm gonna go ahead and use the buy it now :-))
