This is the first computer I have built and the first attempt at Overclocking. I followed your guide and wanted to know if this will be safe voltages and temps for everyday use. After a day and a half of trying to get my ram to run @3200mhz the best I could get stable was 3066mhz in Manual overclock and Cpu @4ghz.

To get stable on Aida64 . CPU Ratio @ 4Ghz with Core Voltage @1.3875V. I did not try to overclock higher due to so much trouble with memory.

Memory would not post @3200mhz up to 1.45v. I settled for Manual overclock of 3066mhz . Dram Voltage 1.39v - NB/SOC @1.1375v . Cldo_Vddp left on Auto because I don't know what that is. Also had to change timing to 18-18-18-38T from timing on ram of 16-18-18-36T to get stable.

These are the settings that would make it through Aida64. I ran 5 times through Cinebench and immediately ran Aida64 for 3 hours. System remained stable throughout. All other settings I tried Aida64 would black screen and mouse and key board go dark. Computer would stay on and I would have to reset holding down the power button. I never used Aida64 before but I assume that means fail? So I settled on the settings I listed above because they ran without issue for over 3 hours on Aida64 two different times. I assume that means the PC is fairly stable

My concern is mainly if the voltages are safe to run as daily setup. I am not experienced with overclocking or computers . The thing that stood out to me was under load the mainboard and Systin temps looked pretty high while everything else seems ok. The case doesn't have greatest airflow by the Vrm.

Case: In Win 301
Board: MSI B350M Mortar
BIOS:  E7A37AMS.160
VGA:  EVGA GTX 1070 FTW2
PSU:  EVGA Supernova 850 G3
CPU:  Ryzen 1600X
MEM: GeIL AMD Edition EVO X 16GB (2 x 8GB) 3200Mhz 16-18-18-36T - 1.35v
HDD/SSD: Samsung Evo 850 250GB, Western Digital Black 1TB Storage drive
COOLER: Corsair H110i V2
Keyboard: Usb Redragon
Mouse: Usb Redragon
OC:  Cpu -4Ghz @1.3875V - Ram 3066Mhz @1.39V -NB @1.1375 Can not get 3200Mhz
OS: Windows 10 64bit Professional

If temps are below 90C under maximum usage, then it's rather safe. Games won't use 100% of the CPU, so in those, around 60-70C will be expected.
Well, yes, if some program fails to open (causes black screen/BSOD) then OC is unstable.

Ok maybe someone knows whats going on. About two weeks ago I decided to oc my Krait x370 mb that's running a Ryzen 1700. All I did was put the multiplyer at 38 so I'm running at 3800mhz with everything else still the same. It runs really good but noticed a couple days ago running cupid that it was only showing 3200mhz so went and cked pc properties and it showed the same. But the weird thing is I went back into bios and it shows 3800 mhz. Any Ideas on whats going on? I am running the lates bios which I think is 7A33V15

Nice Rig and clocks you got there :D I think if you set your Ram command rate from 1T to 2T, You can tighten your timings a lot more or even try 3200MHZ which would help Ryzen CPUs push out a frame or 2 :)

Any unstable RAM or CPU setting from the bios will set your CPU/RAM to stock settings. Maybe try a little overclock only and see if it applies successfully and boots you through windows with it?

It boots just fine I'm saying that CPU-z is saying it is running at 3000mhz while in the bios it says 3800mhz

I have a MSI Carbon Pro x370 from MSI ? there is an issue and when a manual vcore is set for exmaple 1.38v for a 3.9ghz overclock the vcore stays 24/7 @ 1.38v even in idle, load, gaming etc it never drops down to 0.6v, 0.7v in an idle state.

I have tried everything turned on amd cool n quiet, c6 states etc ? it just won't work.
Another downside is that there is no voltage offset on this mobo.

Is it safe to run a ryzen 1700 @ 1.38v 24/7 ???

It makes it very hard to OC without P-state and vcore Offset... when will I get these basic features on my X370 carbon pro????? :(

This is an overclock guide. If you don't have something specific to the guide, you shouldn't be posting here.
MSI's Vcore control is a static voltage if you manually set the voltage. There is no adaptive voltage control unless you have it set to AUTO.
All that being said, did you even bother reading the first post before posting? Since some of your questions are answered there.......

MSI Gaming Pro Carbon. Ryzen 5 1600X. Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR 3200 RAM (Samsung B-Die).
NOTE: Hynix version of same RAM was unstable at this setting. Samsung works perfectly.

Running 100% 24/7 stable at 3.9 GHz on the CPU and using XMP Profile 2 gives 2933 MHz on the RAM.

Only changed 2 things in BIOS. Set CPU to 3900 and set RAM to XMP Profile 2. Everything else on AUTO.

Voltage when idle is 0.70 v. Under load goes up to 1.375 v.

Tried manually setting 1.425 v and going to 4.0 GHz but then it sits at 1.425 all day. Will not down volt like Auto. Damn.

Will stick with 3.9 for now until a BIOS update addresses that. Otherwise happy.

Charles.

There will most likely not be a BIOS update to address it.

Even i have tried 1.45v on cpu core voltage and it is unstable.I also updated my bios to the latest beta bios but no luck. Wright now im running 3.9ghz at 1.375v.

Motherboard. Msi b350 gaming plus.

Not everyone will get 4.0 GHz.....that's generally around the limit of the CPU's. really lucky users might get 4.1 GHz, some might get 4.0 GHz, most get 3.9 GHz.

I have tried overclocking my ram and the best I can get is 2666.  The ram isn't listed on the compatibility list and I have confirmed with the store I can return it and exchanged it.  I have Corsair cmk16gx4m2b3200c16.  What is weird is the cmk16gx4m2b3200c16R and cmk16gx4m2b3200c16W are both listed.  Will I have a higher chance of getting better speed if I exchange it for the cmk16gx4m2b3200c16W.

In regards to OC the CPU my Screen looks a bit different on my MSI B350M Gaming Pro board.  I have CPU Ratio the next line with the frequency is greyed out.  Am? I missing something?

Hello. I just bought an 1300X + a B350 Tomahawk. Seems like there is a "wall" after 3950mhz. I'm perfectly stable until i go over 3950mhz, then, no matter what, Windows won't post, and sometimes also i have to do a Clear_CMOS to revive my PC.

I already tried to put RAM at default speed 2133mhz to be sure, they won't affect the CPU overclock, bu tnothing changed.

I already tried to raise the VSOC to 1.1 and VCPU at 1.45v but nothing changes. There is nothing i can do maybe under some advanced settings or it's just a limit of my CPU ? Thanks.

Ok, thanks, that's what i thought also. Anyway this motherboard it's great, i tried already FOUR AM4 motherboards, and this Tomahawk is the best so far, also the price is great.

Oh i almost forgot a question. I can't find any offset changing at the Voltages, i can just put fixed voltages, is it normal ' Thanks.
