I flashed the new bios for my mainboard MSI B350 PC Mate. Why I can't put the CPU voltage below 1.3V? Why is this locked in the new bios 7A34vAA??????

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B350-PC-MATE
Did u fix that?

I would try it manual. Maybe is the bios.

Personally I prefer he new Bios and here's why. From what I read you can't set manual vcore for anything below 1.3v. For that, you have to use Auto. The motherboard will then provide the correct voltage (up to 1.3v) with the added benefit that it will down volt when the CPU is idle.
Previously my R7 1700 would only run at 3.6Ghz maximum using Auto voltage (1.214v). To get 3.7 I'd have had to use manual voltage as Auto voltage wouldn't go high enough. I didn't want to use manual voltage as I don't want a constant 24/7 higher vcore.
But now with the latest bios Auto Voltage will go as high as 1.3v meaning I can run 3.7Ghz and the voltage will still decrease when the CPU is idle. So for me it's much, much better. Possibly MSI have realised after 10 months that it is perfectly ok to allow the motherboard to supply up to 1.3v whereas previously they were more cautious.

One very important thing to note though. After updating the BIOS my previous 3.6Ghz overclock wasn't stable anymore. Then my overclock profile would not restore as it apparently wasn't compatible with the new BIOS. I had to reset the CMOS. So I started afresh and that's when I figured out that the Auto Voltage setting now supplies a higher voltage effectively allowing a higher overclock.

My overclocking specs:
MOBO - Ryzen Tomahawk Arctic B350

CPU - Ryzen 5 1500X @4.02 GHz @1.375 V

RAM - HyperX 16GB 2-stick kit, rated at 2133 MHz OC TO - 2866 MHz Volts on "Auto" cause of POST issues.
I will adjust timings soon.

GPU - ASUS R9 270 OC'd TO - 270X specs

Also, Windows Task Manager for whatever reason shows my CPU @ 3.5 GHz, but CPU-Z shows my OC. But TM shows RAM frequency correctly.

Prime95 was running for a good 15 minutes, and all threads were stable.

This RAM OC especially, was scaring me, cause I at one point had thought I over-volted it cause I had no POST, but turns out I just has to clear CMOS.

Feel free to critique my work. I'm new to this whole overclocking thing. I'm just trying to get max efficiency of my stuff to get my money's worth, you know?

I experienced the same issue. Out of the box, I didn't encounter this issue. Whenever I overclock the CPU, it shows the correct values on HWMonitor and CPU-Z but not on system properties or DXDIAG. I always update the BIOS everytime there's a new update. So I am thinking that it's a BIOS issue. Luckily, after re-installing the OS, Windows now shows the correct OC values.

Just replaced the innerds on a old cp with:
x370 Gaming Plus
Ryzen 7 1700x
Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz.
In the bios I was easily able to up the mem to 3000, but the cpu freq is grayed out, I can't change it to a higher freq.  I flashed the latest bios to 7A33v5C, no change.
Anybody know what up?

I would suggest starting a new thread in the gaming motherboards section. You'll get more help in that area rather than here.

I do actually have an X370 Gaming Plus as well, but with a Ryzen 5 1500X.

But.....you need to adjust the CPU Ratio. That'll then update the Adjusted CPU Frequency......
So if you enter 37, the CPU Frequency should show 3700MHz.
Enter 40, the CPU Frequency should show 4000MHz.

Thanks for the reply.
I upped the ratio to 39, but had a couple errors in P95 and temps went up to 80c+.  So I will experiment some to see what I can achieve with the cooling I have, CM 212 Evo.

Hi, I have Ryzen 7 1700 with Base Clock 3.0 GHz; my MB is x370 Gaming Plus. So, I want to BOOST but I don't have the option of "CPU frequency" activated, I don't know how to activate it to start overclock. I have the GAME BOOST activated
but it is not recommended to use it. Please help.

Please help me, I really need OC my processor.

Did you just come here to this post, to post asking for help, instead of even just taking 2 minutes to read the very first post? I mean....it's there. It shows you how to do it. Without GAME BOOST....

So what would setting would you recommend for a Ryzen 5 3600X and a 2060RTX on a MPG X570? I recently just finished this as my first build and honestly I am scared to do anything to the OC profile without an experienced person recommending me settings.

Please open own thread as your system is not related to X370 or B350 at all.
