These are the memory configs & speeds guaranteed by AMD for their Ryzen 1XXX CPUs:
1866 MHz for 4 DIMMs in dual channel and dual rank.
2133 MHz for 4 DIMMs in dual channel and single rank.
2400 MHz for 2 DIMMs in dual channel and dual rank.
2666 MHz for 2 DIMMs in dual channel and single rank.

Anything above that is gambling.

Update 2020:

The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 1XXX is 2666MHz.
The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 2XXX is 2933MHz.
The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 3XXX is 3200MHz.
But those speeds are guaranteed only in case of 2 single-rank modules.
In case of dual-rank modules or 4 memory modules everything is degraded with 266MHz (at least).
Of course, overclocking and overvolting combined with a bit of luck (high quality CPU) can lead to higher speeds.
But again, nothing is guaranteed.

Does anyone have any problem with B550 Gaming Plus and 3200Mhz memory with 5600X?
I am running:
Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4
CMW16GX4M2C3200C16
on today BIOS ( 7C56v151 ), same thing on previous one.
Both XMP1 and XMP2 show the same values.
My tRC seems higher than expected.
I get 3 beeps while restetting system, but not with cold launch. I had this issue with my old memory sticks on B450 and 2600 (which were faulty sticks), but these Corsairs don't show any errors on memtest.
MLC test shows worse latencies than my old 2600 with B450 (same sticks). CPU and GPU benchmarks seem to be ok, but I see worse results in CSGO ulletical benchmark compared to other older 3xxx CPUs with 3000-3200MHz RAM.

B550 and 5600X:

B450 and 2600:

I can't speak for your motherboard but since you have one of those SAMSUNG B-Die, I highly suggest tuning your RAM clock manually.

^ this is the calculator I'm using for my b-die kit.

and this is my current timing so far.

I tried it, didn't post even with safe settings. It's one of those false "B-Die". I didn't find anyone getting any real results from these sticks, at best 3466 on the verge of stability.
One more thing: AIDA64 reports 45967MB/s on read. While this MLC shows ~40000MB/s.
Overall it looks like in gaming it feels good, but somehow I think that test like Ulletical in CSGO is something that should not result so bad. I mean 540 to 700fps diffrence. I compared all settings with other people, fresh Windows install, drivers, literally everything. :D
Anyway I can try with your calc.

I just switched to 1.36V instead of 1.4V with XMP2 and MLC and CSGO both went up, but it is still lacking. 41000MB/s in MLC memory latency checker to 45000MB/s on Ryzen 2600.
Avg FPS in CSGO benchmark went from 540 to 636.

Anyone having luck with Gskill trident Royal 4000mhz CL15 Mermory? Was working fine with Zen2, now have a 5900X and boom.... can't run any games, super unstable.

5600X, X570 Unify, G.Skill 3600 CL16 here:
A81: 3600Mhz/1800IF + fast Timings: possible, but RAMTEST Error
A81: 3800/1900IF + possible, XMP Timings, ok, no Error

A82: 3600Mhz/1800IF + fast Timings: NO BOOT
A82: 3800/1900IF + XMP Timings, ok, no Error

Everything higher than 1900 (IF) not possible.

With my old Ryzen 3100: RAM 3600Mhz+ fast Timings (1:1), 3800 + fast Timings possible (1:1).

I hope to see improvements with RAM OC/Timings with the next BIOS Release...

Hi: I was wondering if I could get some assistance on a newbuild I just completed using: MSI MAG X570 Tomahawk + Ryzen 2700X.
I was hoping to reuse 2 sticks of Ram from my previous (intel based) PC: G Skill F4-2666C15D-16GVR PC4-21300 8Gx2 CL15-15-15-35 1.20v
I started the installation with 1 stick of Ram in A2 and booted into BIOS. The Ram was detected, ran at base speed of 2133. I was able to select AXMP profile for 2666mhz.
Rebooted and into BIOS again. Ram was functioning at 2666.

Now thats the good news. Here comes the problem. I inserted the second stick into B2. Booted up the PC and I hear 3 beeps from the buzzer. After cycling twice, it booted into BIOS.
Three things I noticed here:
1) Ram was now running at 2133 mhz again.
2) Two 8GB ram was detected in A2,B2 (I'm hoping this indicates that my DIMM slots are fine)
3) Here's the part I don't understand. The total Ram capacity in the system shows up at 8gb. This is the part that I cant understand.

I've tried swapping the modules around. Nothing seems to work. I'd like to point out that the ram is not found on both MSI and AMD QVL list.
Any help and advice is much appreciated.

There does seem to be an issue with the MSI X570 boards and Ryzen 5000 series not allowing an FCLK higher than 1600Mhz, so if you have 3200MHz RAM you are good, But anything past that will not boot. I get an 07 Diag code on the Mobo.
I am hoping the MSI BIOS updates will resolve it soon. But even the E7C35AMS.A75 Beta bios has the same issue.
I am running an X570 Unify, Ryzen 5800X and G.Skill 14CL 3200Mhz 4x8.
The RAM happily OC'd to 4000 at 16-16-16-36 with my 3900 XT but not with the 5800X, unless I manually underclock the FCLK to 1600 MHz.
I am having the same issue with G.Skill dd4-3600 4x8GB kit (F4-3600C18Q-32GTZR). RAM is on the QVL list. I tried XMP 1 and it would not POST. Had to disable XMP for it to work. Can I manually set FCLK to 1600 in the mean time and not use XMP? I also have Ryzen 5900x and having all sorts of CPU issues with PBO and CPB (had to disable both). Im running the BIOS that was released before the beta

Yeah, you should be fine doing that for the time being. There's a known issue with AMD's AGESA code that is causing those issues right now, from what I remember.
It MIGHT have been fixed very recently (late november I think there was an update?), so maybe it's worthwhile to check here : https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?threads/msi-x570-b550-beta-bios-update-bug-status.348919/unread

Hi @eludingone, did you have any luck with the .A81 or .A82 beta bios? I'm seeing the same on my 5950X in an X570 ACE (currently on 7C35v1C which is prior to the 1D1 / 1D2 betas which some claim might help me). I would note that it does manage to get up and running some times (for a bit it was reliable, but has been getting progressively worse). I would really like to hear from someone with the same / similar issue as me and seeing it resolved with these new beta bios releases.

So this is different than the beta bios on the MSI website (below).

Version7C35v1D2(Beta version)
Release Date

It looks like @darkhawk was pointing you at the earlier .1D1 beta version, which would probably be prior to the 1D2 beta on the board page, so maybe no help if the 1D2 isn't resolving your issue (which seems to be the same as mine :().

I'm prob not going to do anything until the next non-beta bios is out. My computer is running fine with no XMP, PBO and CPB. I can live with it for the time being. Tks!
