These are the memory configs & speeds guaranteed by AMD for their Ryzen 1XXX CPUs:
1866 MHz for 4 DIMMs in dual channel and dual rank.
2133 MHz for 4 DIMMs in dual channel and single rank.
2400 MHz for 2 DIMMs in dual channel and dual rank.
2666 MHz for 2 DIMMs in dual channel and single rank.

Anything above that is gambling.

Update 2020:

The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 1XXX is 2666MHz.
The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 2XXX is 2933MHz.
The max memory speed (guaranteed) for Ryzen 3XXX is 3200MHz.
But those speeds are guaranteed only in case of 2 single-rank modules.
In case of dual-rank modules or 4 memory modules everything is degraded with 266MHz (at least).
Of course, overclocking and overvolting combined with a bit of luck (high quality CPU) can lead to higher speeds.
But again, nothing is guaranteed.

Hi,
I have RAM latency of 74.6 ns.
Is it normal considering my rig shown below in my signature?
What could I do in my rig to improve this figure?
Please redo the links they were preventing the page from from loading
They have been removed so you will need to do them again.

Hi everyone, I'm having trouble with the boot of my new PC with dual channel ram. I have a B550 tomahawk and (2 X 16)GB DDR4 3600mhz of Corsair vengeance RGB pro SL. The cpu is an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x. The compatibility of the parts should be spot on, the BIOS is updated to the latest and I've tried every possible configuration in any of the dimms. Both ram sticks work fine in single, but in dual i get the EZ-debug led on in CPU and the system doesn't boot up. Is there anyone who could be so kind to help me please?

What happens if you stick just a single stick in B2? I assume when you're been doing single channel testing, all of it has been in A2?

Is there a way to check that the problem is that without buying a new CPU?
You've got 2 options. Either try another CPU, or try your CPU in another motherboard. Either should verify what the problem is.

If you try another CPU in your current setup....
1. It either works fine, confirming the original CPU is bad
2. Or it doesn't work fine, and that confirms there's an issue with the motherboard.

Hello all,
I have a MSI B650-P Wifi (Bios 7D78v17) with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 2x16 GB of DDR5 (Corsair Vengeance CMK32GX5M2B6400C32 - 6400Mhz / CL32 / 1.4v) placed on the slots DIMMA2 and DIMMB2.

I had the A-XMP enabled, the frequency was at 6400 Mhz, but I had a lot of BSOD issues : after 45 min to play at Modern Warfare 2 (2022) : error code. Even without playing, on Windows : BSOD Error code like PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED...so I decreased the frequency at 6000 Mhz as you can see below and now it works perfectly fine.

My question is : according to the specifications of the MB, normally I can use my DDR5 with the 6400Mhz frequency. But unfortunately, for a reason I don't understand, it seems it become the system unstable. I would like to know if someone had the same behavior as me and if yes, there is any solution to use my memory at the maximum frequency without any unstability of the system?
Many thanks !
