Another K8T boot failure -please help

I have a ?Boot attempt - This will set low stack and boot via INT 19herror?
I have read all the threads and am still stuck

K8T FIS2R

512 or 1025 MB certified Nanya or Winbond pc3200 RAM
Nanya NT512D64S8HB1G-5T
(Nanya NT5DS32M8BT-5T)

400W PSU with 25A on 12V

tried with IDE and Sata drives
tried both sata chipsets

tried with nothing connected

128mb FX GEForce 5600 but tried with other graphics card

Still only boots about 1 in 5 attempts

Can you please help or do I have a faulty board?

hi

can u be more specific as to when exactly you get this error .. is it after the bios screen .. after the promise sata screen .. after the via sata screen .. and which bios do u have 1.1 or 1.2 ?

the more details u supply the easier for us to help u

Mostly i have tried with 120gb Maxtor on via sata 1 but also on both promise channels

I have also flashed bios to 1.20

Also tried 120gb ide on primary master

The error mostly occurs immediately after ide detection and identification and then hangs on that screen

i have tried certified winbond memory as well

please see other replies were i have added more details

After INT 19H it's bussy with more memory checks.....
So try other memory, then you are sure....
What do you mean with certified????? It still can fail.....only testing with other will show if it's the case or not....

Sorry to use the wrong term but i mean memory that is listed as tested on the msi web site for this board
I have tried Winbond w942508bh-5 as 1 or 2 sticks of 512mb as well.

Might this make memory failure less likely?

Yes and no....

Take some PC-2100/2700 and see if it solves the problem.....
If it does, your memory could be having problems with the board....
Lots of PC-3200 sticks do....it's a lottery...
