Hi,

i got the MSI K8TNeo. I want to use to soundcards, the onboard sound and my audigy 2 ZS, but anytime i stick the audigy on the board, the onboard sound in windows is disabled. I got no conflict but i cannot choose the on board sound only the audigy.
I hope my problem is comprehensible and thx for help.

Hi, i have kt8neo, i have same problems with my soundblaster audigy, i disable in bios ac97 codec audio and instaled i want only run my pc sounblaster audigy.
When install driver say not installed correct card , i try change pci slot but say same.
Thanks

 Why use 2 sound boards? The Realtek because I have paid MSI for it, and when watching movies 5.1 is nice. For the Sound Blaster board, because I already owned it and I want to use the joystick for games. And it drives my (separate)keybaord speakers.

I have sent MSI the follwoing email today:
"
When i place a Sound Blaster board in my K8T NEO FIS2R, the on-board
Realtek sound disappears from the device list.

I have read on the forum this is how all the K8T boards work. It is not a
problem of my mainboard nor of my sound card.

I find this unacceptable.

Please indicate when a BIOS update is available. If there will not be, I
will have to down rate the K8T board on several hardware review forums.

You don't have to be a prick about it. I'm sure if their customers let them know they want this functionality, they'll work on getting it in if possible. I think this part of your message was uncalled for. Perhaps something like
"I would appreciate any information you could give me about the possible availability of a BIOS update or other fix to overcome this problem."

Don't forget to tune in next week for our next lesson:
"Proof reading your emails."

So i have this problem... I have 2.1 speakers and i have heard that u can play them on a 6.1 onboard sound, yet i only get the left side to play... I have looked at all my settings and there set to balance... I have tryed other speakers and it still plays just the left. Is it not possible to have 2.1 on 6.1?

perhaps you have them plugged in the wrong hole at the back :| ona 6.1 theres at least 3 holes which sound will come out of, the front, the rear and middle? i guess.

might also be a digital out, microphone in, SPDIF, Auxilary prolly more too.

otherwise try updating drivers if you havent already and twist the connector around in the back, to check if its just a bad connection. If the sound quality changes whilst u turn it round, then the connection is obviously not right.

I know nothing however :undecided:

Same problem there with the onboard sound and a SBlive Value.
When using Windows XP: the sblive works but the onboard ALC655 chip is not detected by the operating system (and of course no output sounds)
When using Windows XP 64 bit: two sound hardware are detected. None of them is working. For the SBlive, I think this is a driver issue (no XP64 driver available). For the ALC655, don't know if it's related to a conflict (sblive & alc655 conflicts) or related to the alc655 driver.
