Audio Crackle

I have just got the K8 mobo with the AMD 3200 64bit proc.
This is the second system I have(the first would not boot!)
I have a Mark of the Unicorn sound card ( 24 i/o ) and This card cost 3x the mobo packet so i am alittle bit disapointed that i cant get it to work without crackles and pops (like the breakfast cerial!). i have read other people with the same problems with the audigy cards.
It seems to me that this mobo is not made for audio!!!!! Is there any fixes for this problem or do i have to reinstall my old mother board and processor and wait for this system to get the bugs squashed.MSI must have tryed this board and I dont belive they did not encounter any problems with it............so why release it in this state.Waiting afew months to rectifie the faults...... :frankie:

Hi Guys,

Did you all see the post, where removing the side panel stopped Audio crackles, the conclusion was a bit of static or grounding around the connectors

Hi

The side of the case, you remove to access insides. It may be it sets up a field of some type, whoever, noticed it said side panel on got crackle, side panel off stops crackle. I think he was blaming connectors picking up static or something from it.

Okay, I decided to check out the inside of my system to see if there was anything touching anything that wasn't supposed to be (as suggested by Ahumado). I didn't notice anything like that, but I did notice that the jumper on pin 5 & 6 was reversed from that of pins 9 & 10 on JAUD1 (was my fault, I originally connected the front audio ports, then changed my mind and put the jumpers back on). I don't know if it's the fact it was reversed or if it just wasn't seated well, but when I took off the jumper on 5 & 6 and then put it back on, that fixed my problem.

So, to sum up, if anyone else is having this sort of problem with the On Board audio, try reseating your jumpers on JAUD1.

thanks you. but if you read my post I said it happened ONLY when i was driving a tank . . .which is loud. but on other parts of the game it sounds fine. sounds like a software problem to me.

funny enough it didn't happen today. i guess i am just out of my mind. i know that i have so much staic electricity around me that I have to touch a metal lamp before i touch my mouse. :noidea:
