Audio Stutter/Buzzing and System Hanging on Katana 15 B13V

Issue: Constant micro-stuttering and audio distortion.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some help with my Katana 15 B13V. Every few seconds (or minutes) during media playback (YouTube, Spotify) or gaming, the entire system hangs for a fraction of a second.

When it happens, the audio makes a loud buzzing/grinding sound (like a "grarrrr" or "bzzz" loop)

What I’ve noticed:

  • It happens both when plugged in and on battery.
  • It occurs regardless of whether I'm using the laptop speakers or headphones.
  • The system doesn't crash to a Blue Screen; it just hitches and then continues as normal.
  • Few months before this issue was there but only happen like twice in a day. Now it happens every few seconds.

Hi, I'm having the same problem (chamikanethmi15a502e8) with my MSI 15 B13V.

I've already updated the drivers, but the problem persists.

I don't know what else to do.

now i'm regreting to buy this brand
 
same problem with the Titan 18 HX AI A2XWIG.. and no fix insight.. support told me to mail in the laptop.. it's 2 months old and problems since day 1. Bestbuy wouldnt even take it back after a week.. regret switching from Asus to MSI... the sounds sucks.
 
I've been experiencing similar issues with my MSI GF63 Thin 12VE (i7 12th gen). It shipped with 16GB RAM (2x8) and I upgraded to 64GB (2x32 CL22, 3200MHz, 290-pin—exactly per specs) in October-November 2025. Since then, I've dealt with random freezes regardless of usage intensity, power state, or display configuration, and also a similar audios issues mentione in this post. The unpredictability makes troubleshooting challenging, so I'm working through solutions before attempting a clean Windows install or sending it to repair. (Of course, it could be the RAM, but I have also done many tests and it is increasingly the least likely option)

What's helped stabilize my system:
Driver & System Repairs
Performed a clean reinstall and upgrade of NVIDIA drivers, followed by Intel drivers
Ran SFC (System File Checker) with the repair command
Repaired Windows via Recovery Settings
Ran SFC again to verify system health
This noticeably improved stability. I suspect there are conflicts between the NVIDIA GPU and Intel integrated graphics, though these shouldn't cause hardware damage, and not always are the cause of the audio, image/video issues.

Battery & Power Scheme Issues
I discovered that MSI Center and Windows updates often conflict with power schemes—a common culprit for battery problems in Windows 11.
Here's what I did:
Disconnected the internal battery for 10 minutes, then reconnected
Waited 2 minutes before powering on (without the charger)
Let the system stabilize for ~5 minutes
Connected the charger
Restored Windows 11 power schemes via command line
Restarted the system

Results so far: Audio issues resolved, LatencyMon shows improved metrics, and freezes decreased significantly (though not eliminated). I'm 24+ hours without issues and continuing to monitor.

My recommendation: Research solutions specific to your setup, but use my experience as a starting point (and also clean your computer lol, that also helps). The problem likely isn't one single issue but a combination of factors. I'm still investigating, but these steps have made a measurable difference.

if running Windows 11 Pro edition (not Home/Core edition) use Group policies to change/modify windows update options, especially in disabling some "device driver" updates

I am having the same issue with my MSI Titan 18HX Norse Myth Dragon Edition. It was worst in 25H2, so I have to shift back to my Windows 23H2. In 23H2, It didn't stop but far better than 25H2. I am not getting my screen Freeze and audio lost. It sometimes happed and for only 1-2 sec. Rest working fine now in Windows 23H2.

This is the only fix I am able to find till now. Downgrade your windows to 23H2.

Update Nahimic APO to version 5.0.6
Audio crackling is often linked to an outdated Nahimic Audio Processing Object (APO) driver. Install the latest version:
