Hello, is there a B350 pc mate 5000 series bios update? When please
What plutomate means is you wont get the necessary performance advantage the CPU can offer due to the Limitation of you motherboardwhy having a bios update to support 500 series if it's acutally do not support it? also can you recommande a good cheap mobo for 5000 series please
Wasn't making it clear but Alan J T explained itwhy having a bios update to support 500 series if it's acutally do not support it? also can you recommande a good cheap mobo for 5000 series please
This has nothing to do with MSI, and more to do with limitations imposed by AMD.I'm having trouble understanding why you two are defending MSI. its the same AM4 socket, and AMD has finally allowed B350s to run Zen3. If MSI doesn't release a BIOS update, I'm 100% certain I will not buy MSI in the future. This makes sense to me...

Yes it s 350 now on ebay, + no motherboard uograte it should be a great update for our budgetyou'd make a terrible realtor - "Sure this apartment fits your budget and needs, but you should get a mansion in the hills instead. Its much nicer!"
Its entirely up to MSI whether they put priority in supporting their existing customer base.
for my needs, $400 and 15 minutes of time could mean going from 1700 to 5900x. I don't OC but i do use multi-threaded apps.
What motherboard do you suggest? On budget to get full potentialThis has nothing to do with MSI, and more to do with limitations imposed by AMD.
Like it or not, Intel changes sockets for a fairly good reason.....as time goes on, hardware improves. It's hard to have a product that is literally 5+ years old, and have it support the latest hardware to the fullest.
AMD has proven that their theory for the socket is good for certain respects, but poor in others. Incorporate that with their generally poor support (There's a reason you see so many BIOS updates for any given Zen platform......), and it makes the platform a poor choice for anyone that wants stability (IMHO).
What you're getting with running a 5000 series chip on your B350 is more of a hack than anything else. AMD is simply doing this to appease people like you, that refuse to update to a new board but still want a newer CPU. Will it work? Honestly, it might, or it might not.
That being said, the reason others are suggesting a new motherboard is to get that full support. Even now, a $130 on a newer motherboard is a generally good investment, given the newer range of ports, and more ability to connect NVMe's, etc.....all of which are better supported in these newer 5000 series chips. And considering the newer board is built specifically for the 5000 series chips, there's less worry about issues, power regulation, etc.....
But yes, you're welcome to switch to another vendor, but I'm fairly certain they will be of the same mindset, and for good reason. It just makes sense.
I'm not trying to be a realtor. I'm trying to be realistic. Realtors will tell you anything to make that sale. Much akin to lawyers.you'd make a terrible realtor - "Sure this apartment fits your budget and needs, but you should get a mansion in the hills instead. Its much nicer!"

Prices will vary quite a bit depending on location. Having said that....What motherboard do you suggest? On budget to get full potential
More the 200+ watt Power Draw the 5900X can hit I have not even started to push mine in OC testing yet and am hitting 195 Watts I believe AMD have a hard maximum limit of 220 Watts so the 5900X is already close to that out of the box with no tweaking to boost all Core performance. I am not sure if your board can actually supply that amount of power to the CPU. So you may end up Power limiting the CPU,Pcie 4 you mean
MSI have started to release BIOS for B300 boards so just check to see from time to time but they are on the wayHello, is there a B350 pc mate 5000 series bios update? When please
