So I was using my PC yesterday and suddenly the screen goes blank, do a hard reboot, but the vga light is on the mobo. Test the card in another machine and it's all ok. Don't have spare parts to test other things, so take to the repair. He flashes the BIOS using the function at the back of the mobo which I'd forgotten about and it's working again. I would never have guessed it was corrupt BIOS as I had updated it a month ago with no problems. These BIOS releases seems to be problematic as I'd had 7B85v1B , upgraded to 7B85v1C about 4 years ago, but I found the the PC was hanging so went back to 7B85v1b until a month ago when I updated to the corrupt 7B85v1H3.
