Hello all.
I have the above motherboard and thinking of upgrading mu cpu from R2700 to R5700x. I still have the BIOS the mobo came with (Agesa 1.0.0.3) from the old 2019.
1. Should i update straight to the newest BIOS (7C02v3K) or are there any inbetween older bios update steps that should be installed first?
2. When i install the new bios will my old cpu be supported or should i do it right before i upgrade to the new cpu? I mean can i do the BIOS update now with the R2700 on the system or will it stop working until i get the new cpu?

Thank you...

Straight to the latest. Do it right before the upgrade. Your Ryzen 2000-series will be supported (they never remove support for any Ryzen CPUs, only for pre-Ryzen models), but i would not boot into Windows with the old CPU after the BIOS update, just enter the BIOS, shut it down, then you can put in the new CPU, do a couple settings, and then boot Windows again.

Well, you know, the usual. Set your fan curves (if the update doesn't preserve them, but for a BIOS from 2019 to the latest one, it might not), enable A-XMP for your RAM so it runs at the proper speed, those things.

Nothing is preserved after a BIOS update, not even OC profiles. For OC I tend to take photos of my settings, though for you it's a CPU swap so won't apply :) But everything else you may want to take a note like citay mentioned.

On my board, the fan curves are preserved from one BIOS version to the next. But if you skip a lot of versions, i'm doubtful.
