B450M MORTAR MAX: crashes after BIOS update to latest version (2.E0)

Hello,

I have updated the BIOS using the MSI Dragon Center (now I have MSI Center). After the update, the games started crashing, freezing. Sometimes the whole PC shuts down.
Could anyone suggest any solutions to this problem?

Yes, downgrade to the BIOS version before that. The AGESA 1.2.0.5 microcode for the CPU (or what MSI call "AMD ComboAm4v2PI") used in the newest BIOS is problematic, see here, and they already released a beta BIOS with AGESA 1.2.0.6b for a bunch of boards. Others should follow soon.

Do you enable XMP profile on RAM?
In case you don't know how to revert back to previous BIOS,
1. Download BIOS 7B89v2D from motherboard BIOS page: https://download.msi.com/bos_exe/mb/7B89v2D.zip
2. Extract it and put BIOS file E7B89AMS.2D0 to a USB drive.
3. Plug it in and start your PC, keep pressing Delete key until BIOS screen pops up.
4. Select M-FLASH and system should automatically reboot to m-flash page.
5. Select your USB and select the BIOS file E7B89AMS.2D0, press Enter to start flashing.
6. PC should reboot after the update completes.

Actually, what I did was only resetting the CMOS. It helped. And yes, I'm using XMP profile.

I'm scared to upgrade to this 1.2.0.6c. Version 1.2.0.6b is fine here. I had no more problems with my system. Super stable.
The Call of Duty game crashes, but it's his. Prior to this BIOS, if CoD Vanguard crashed, it could cause the system to BSoD and reboot.
I'll wait for the final version, as there is a great possibility that an AGESA 1.2.0.7 will be released.

May be best to roll back to AGESA 1.2.0.2 for your board till BIOS is fully fixed.

I already had to revert to an older one. Yes, it works.
Just be careful to validate this with MSI Support, as there are BIOS versions that, because they are very old, may have problems when applied.

1.2.0.2 was release in MAY last year so not a old bios but going below that will cause no boot with 5000 serie CPU

The BIOS version listed in the CPU QVL is the first version that adds support. All further versions keep supporting that CPU, unless stated otherwise.

Even though I've updated to the latest version of BIOS, I still experience random game crashes... Also, I noticed that turning XMP profile one immediately makes the system unstable.

Yes. Unfortunately, my PC sometimes does not even turn on with XMP profile 1 or 2 enabled.

What RAM do you have? Could you please take a picture of RAM sticker like below?
Before putting RAM back, I might find a soft cloth or rubber to clean the golden finger.

I have four sticks of 8 GB RAM as shown above. I tried rubbing it off. Nothing helps though... It still crashes on games. When turning my PC on, first it turns on, but nothing shows on the screen. Then you have to force shutdown. And on the second try it turns on normally.
