System:
MPG Gaming Plus MB
Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
G.Skills Ripjaws V 64 GB (2x32GB) DDR4-3200 RAM
2x Seagate 3TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD (Just hanging around for future use)
2x Kingston UV500 960GB SSD (Plan to put these back as RAID 1 for data files, I haven't made it that far yet. My data files are secure on an external drive and one of the Seagates)
1x Kingston UV500 480GB SSD (Was my old OS Drive, not sure what I'll do with it, maybe try playing with Linux, just hanging around for future use now, but still has old OS on it)
1x Western Digital SN750 500GB M.2-2280 NVME SSD (This is my new boot drive, I restored an image of the Kingston 480GB to this drive)
MSI GeForce GTX 750 1GB Video Card (I know it's a dinosaur, I'll replace it when I can)
OS Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit Full Edition
I run dual monitors. Thanks to Covid and working from home since March, I have a KVM that allows me to share my dual monitors with my work laptop and switch back and forth between work and home PC.
USB Connected devices: Canon Printer/Scanner, UPS, KVM (all rear panel), Toshiba External drive (front panel).
1.) Have not successfully booted in UEFI mode, it just seems to hang up and my HDD light stays lit solid, one of the diagnostic LED's is on but I can't tell which position it's in. Most recently in trying this, while booting and pressing F11, the boot drive selection was empty.
2.) Have experienced numerous issues with boot up not allowing BIOS entry via Delete key. The only thing that seems to help is powering off and waiting a few minutes.
3.) I still need to sort out RAID for the 2x Kingstons as RAID 1 and possibly the 2x Seagates as RAID 0 once I properly restore my data to the Kingston RAID.
4.) Mouse/Keyboard lockup while in BIOS editing, this requires a power off/on to try again.
5.) Have now had two instances while trying to search for answers that my LAN fails (shows Internet not connected) my UPS stops communicating to Windows, if I open File Explorer, it hangs up. I have had to power off/on to reset.
6.) I periodically get the USB Overcurrent fault. For now I seem to be able to reboot out of it, though it seems like I see it more when I try to use UEFI.
What I want:
I don't care if run UEFI, though I would like to take advantage of the boot speed of the M2 SSD as my boot drive.
I need to establish RAID for the 2 x Kingston 960 drives. When I activate RAID and use the RAIDXpert2 Configuration Utility, can I pick and choose which drives become part of a particular array? On my old PC I had a RAID Card which isn't supported on this MB. According to the MB user guide, if I activate RAID, I'm supposed to activate UEFI (see item 1).
Any help appreciated, I may have left out details, but would be most appreciative to work with anyone willing to help.
Thanks,
Rich
