The board comes with a pure text BIOS (latest bios version 345) only &
it does not have any option to select RAM XMP profile,
thus my GEIL EVO-X II 3200Mhz RAM can only run @2133Mhz!

Any help please?

No your board does not support 3200MHz ram speed while it will work with ram rated to 3200 it will not set the ram to that speed. Asking the same question again and again hoping to get a different answer will bug the Moderators.

Hi kk_chi152e02e0

I had the same problem, but it is not necessary to activate the XMP, you just have to change the frequency of the RAM in the BIOS.

Remember that it is dual chanel, so for 3600 it must be 1800Mhz.

Hi, I don't think you can tweak the RAM voltage & ryzen master doesn't work.

This motherboard is not a good choice if you want overclocking. Just my 2 cents.

Could you make your ram work in 3200mhz at least? This mb is like 50% cheaper when compared with another consumer board where I live, my biggest fear is spending in a 3600Mhz mem and only getting 2999 like you said in the post, or dunno losing performance in general. Aside from oc would you recommend the board as a cheap option?

I couldn't make my ram to run@3200Mhz & won't recommend this board to anyone as it's bios is quite shabby! Sorry to disappoint you.

In both LATAM and US versions of MSI website it says that this motherboard supports up to 3200 Mhz by JEDEC and 4400 Mhz by A-XMP.
This information is for some reason omitted in global version of the website, although the data sheet also informs up to 4400 as maximum memory clock.
So, the question is, how to enable higher memory frequencies?

What CPU? Some CPU don't allow XMP

Best you can probably do is use CPUZ and check the RAM SPD timings table, print them out,
Quite often the RAM will have a few XMP/JDEC profiles in there up to the RAMs rated speed.
RAM-SPD.png

Go into BIOS, select the RAM frequency then also enter the timings you got from CPUZ.
As you raise the frequency things like (t)CL will need to be changed from e.g. 14 to 16 (check CPUZ) etc. try and find a match for all the settings in the table eg, CAS# Latency would be (t)CL ,

Check the max RAM BUS frequency the CPU allows, like for 2600 it is 2933 / 2 = 1466.5 though you can usually go over this some. I know 2600 would allow XMP anyway but only up to 2933, not 3200. you can select 3200 but you would only get 2933 so you would still have to manually change the frequency and timings and hope your CPU can do more than the CPU limited RAM BUS Speed. CPU lottery limit.

I would start low as if you can't change the RAM voltage it might be a bit hopeful to get 3200, but possibly 2600, or maybe 2933 ? RAM lottery limit.

No as may brick your board and MSI has bios protection in place to prevent accidental flash of incorrect bios.
And please start a new topic.
