B550M-VC WIFI BIOS Flashing Issues.

Hello, I recently bought a B550M-VC Wifi Motherboard because my old Ipason A520-B was destroyed in a storm surge via the Ethernet Port. I have installed the existing Ryzen 5 5600G AM4 CPU into the board as well as a Nvidia 3060 (12GB VRAM). The issues I am having is that I believe is happening is that the BIOS is too old to read the newer 5600G which is causing it to not respond at all. When I shorted via the Power switch prongs on the bottom left hand corner of the board, and used the power button on the top of the case. I have used a 2GB FAT32 formatted drive with the MSI.ROM 7C95vHE BIOS Version. The file is named correctly as MSI.ROM. When I insert the drive into the top most USB port beneath the HDMI port on the motherboard, and press the "BIOS FLASH" button on the top of the motherboard. It has a long steady blink for about 3-5 seconds then it blinks repeatedly consistently for 5 times then shuts off. No fans spin or "EZ Debug" lights appear as the BIOS Flash is blinking or pressed. I have been working on this issue for the past 2 hours straight. What I had hoped be a nice afternoon has now turned into a headache of a problem.

The Flash BIOS procedure is notoriously picky about which USB sticks it will work with. Some people had to try 5 or 6 different USB sticks before the procedure would be successful. Make sure the maximum size is 32 GB and using FAT32 file system.

In short: round up all USB sticks of people around you.

Does it mean the MB does NOT power up at all, or MB can power up but system hangs with EZ debug LED lighting?

If the MB does not power up at all, your existing CPU or PSU might be defective as well.
In this case try to test another CPU or PSU.

By the way, the Flash BIOS port is under the PS/2 Combo port. Do you mean this port in the picture?

With an unsupported CPU model, the board should still turn on and constantly show the CPU LED. If you don't get any reaction from the board at all, something else is wrong. Instead of using the power button, you would short the two power switch pins on the JFP1 header with a screwdriver to give the board the power-on signal, which it appears you have tried. But triple-check, using the markings on the board, that you are indeed on JFP1, and on the top left two pins of it. With still no reaction at all, test with a different (borrowed) PSU, it has to be known good, of decent quality, and not too old.

That actually sounds correct for the flashing process, it should blink for 5-8 minutes and then reboot. During that time, don't worry too much about the EZ Debug LEDs, those are mostly for the POST process, right after turning on the board.

Since you don't get under one minute of flashing, and neither get endless flashing, I would say, the BIOS flashing was probably a success, but the board doesn't want to turn on properly. There might have been more damage than what you assumed. What's your PSU model?
