I just bought this laptop in late may 2022 and i immedieatly update everything i can like OS, MSI app, etc. I put user scenario in msi center app on Balanced all the time and put Power mode in power & battery setting on Best Power Efficiency. I also set my screen in msi true color app Office mode and brightness 10%. I charged this laptop to 100% and i only use it for browsing using google chrome with wifi on and no other app running in background (except for steelseries app for rgb keyboard and wifi intel killer app), and after 1 hour 30 min, the battery already drop to 20%. My question is it normal? am i doing something wrong? i mean i only use it for google chrome nothing else but the battery seems dropping so fast. Thanks for the replies and sorry for my bad english.

Your CPU is drawing way too much power 49W and 4.9Ghz, i9s are energy guzzlers.
Try putting in battery settings 99% max for CPU power maximum, to block the TURBO, that might help a little.
You can also change your screen to a lower refresh rate like 60hz when on battery, that might help a little also.
I prefer using TS on my laptops better control on CPU that way, not sure it will work with the 12th gen though.

thanks for your explanation, rn i put my laptop on battery conservation mode, i think it will help prolong my battery life.
i done my reading too about i9 gen12th, its true they tend to drain a lot power, so now i put on ultra save mode all the time, and lower the refresh rate like u said, and i think it help. It took 1h 20m to 15% battery from 60%battery (ofc because battery conservation mode so the max battery is now 60%)
