Have anyone testet the new "beta bios" that is on the support site for X470 Gaming Pro Carbon?
Version: 7B78v29M(Beta version)
I have not yet received my CPU and im in no hurry for another 2 weeks.

But this isnt a official bios is it? since it clearly state: Beta version

I have it, and it works mostly fine for me and my 3900X.

A couple of issues so far:

  • My GPU is only at 8x link. It's not a huge issue since graphics cards don't even use that much bandwidth most of the time
  • The voltages are... concerning. By default, it pushes 1.488v though the CPU, which is more than I even ran my R5 1600 at when getting it to 3.95GHz. Now, some people say this isn't an issue because Windows will take care of everything... but on the other hand, my 3900X works just fine thank you very much at much lower voltages. Currently 4.58GHz (boost, not permanent) @1.16v is doable

In my pre-Ry3k Mortar BIOS it's called Windows Enhanced Mode.  Once enabled it boots UEFI / fast mode, if disabled it boots in Compatibility mode. You find it on the Advanced menu.  Once enabled you can then also set it up for Secure Boot.

If it's taking that long it might be training memory every bootup, so it may not be retaining settings between boots.

EDIT UPDATE: It appears there's a new BIOS version on the B450M Mortar Support page.  It says it includes AGESA 1.0.0.3AB which AMD was telling reviewers to use to fix boosting problems.  Suggest you check both your support page and then the BETA page to see if your Titanium has an update.
Mortar Titanium page doesn't show new BIOS, last one is the BETA I have now. In relase notes it says UI changed to click BIOS GSE-Lite, maybe this version lacks fast boot option
I couldn't find any "Windows Enhanced Mode" setting. There is some windows setting to boot UEFI or CSM, but I don't have UEFI bootable OS, so I choose CSM.
Regarding memory, I have set it to PC-3200 from default and when I get into BIOS again the setting is still set to PC-3200.
I guess I will have to wait for next BIOS update (and also wait during long boots :) )

The Beta-Bios works with my 2600 but the 3700x doesn't boot at all. Like others mentioned the EZ Debug CPU LED stays on and my monitor doesn't receive a signal.
On my dad's B450 Gaming Plus on BIOS 7B86v18 the 3700x boots just fine.
I guess we have to wait for the final BIOS on the x470 GPC.
Update: I got it working by removing one of my RAM sticks during the first boot with the 3700x.
The mouse is a bit laggy in the BIOS but the keyboard works fine. Win10 is stable so far.

Hi,
I got my CPU yesterday 3700X, so finaly able to test my B450 Gamin Pro Carbon AC.
Following some feedback i saw, i updated bios .17M using flashback feature, renamed it to MSI.ROM and put on a USB2 key formated FAT32.
When launching bios update, only the PSU was connected to the mortherboard, after it finished (red blinking stopped), i let it 20 minutes before turning the power off.
After installation, computer booted 2-3 times before getting POST and after Windows came up all working fine :)
I checked DRAM was at 2400, went into bios used XMP profile and it was then at it's 3200mhz. That's the only setting i changed. (Ram is 2x8GB Balistic 3200CAS16)

My main issue for now, is that i really want to do a custom fan curve setting, in this light bios it's not supported. I used MSI Comand center, that is perfect for this, but it's not keeping settings after restart, and one time applying setting crashed the computer, (bios beta issue ?).

So this is my feedback, hope we get a stable bios soon. My wish is a stable bios dedicated for Ryzen 3000, with old Bios interface back and all it's feature.

Good luck everyone ;)

Well as stated, i have been using it since yesterday, and did a lot of reboot since, even changing PSU at one time.
So it may be luck, but for now after 20 reboot, didn't get any issue. Hoping it continu

I even just discovered that in bios you can manually set fan custom setting, that was one of my regret.
So all in all, i may even be happy with this light bios interface, it's easy to use, only the option are not called the same or give the same choice sometime.

Check the 'Advanced' tab in the BIOS. There should be fan curve settings in 'Hardware Monitoring'.

Code:
[color=#222222][SIZE=3][font=Times New Roman][font=arial sans-serif]all this seems right to me, but ... and the bios for the X470 Gaming plus, or is it the same bios as the X470 Gaming Pro?[/font][/font][/SIZE][/color]

I have ADATA SX8200 PRO 1TB. I checked first my ssd speed in crystaldiskmark they were around 1.7 GB/s (sequential read and write).

I have the exact same ADATA drive, same 3700X and same mobo, and I'm only getting x2 speeds as well. I hope this is fixed in the next BIOS revision.

This is a bug and MSI will fixed it in the next version :)

With X470 Gaming Pro Carbon and 3800x I am only seeing 8x GPU PCI-E link speed. No other slots besides the M.2 is populated. M.2 is operating at 4x as expected.

This is the only real issue i'm seeing thus far.

Hello ! I just tried to flash BETA BIOS on my B450 Carbon Pro AC, but it blinks just 3 times and the led goes off (also blinks 3 time with no usb stick inserted). I can power on the computer, but keyboard and graphic card don't work.
I suppose that my USB stick is just not detected, I'll get another one soon. Can anyone confirm that my mobo isn't just dead and that this is 'normal' ? ^^"

Hey just wanted to tell that I had the same issue and looks like the problem is in the cluster size of the flash drive. For whatever reason it's readable only with 32 block division. Format the drive and copy the BIOS file there and it should read it without issues. Got my CPU to work, but on the stable release of the BIOS, there are no overclocking options available for the CPU and any changes to the RAM except XMP profile crashes the system.
Same thing in the ryzen master and MSI control center even if its a 30 Mhz change. Did windows push some update or is this MSI doing? Or just something wrong with my system? Can anyone confirm?

i Have the B450 Mortar, and i have tried 3 different usb sticks, nothing works. every time i try to flash bios it just blink red 3 times and nothig else happens. looks like i have to buy an old ryzen cpu just to update my mobo and use my cpu. I am pretty anoyed that nothing works!

Do you mean  your USB stick not detected in Flashback ??   note that flashback only support FAT32 and don't support NTFS

Hello, have you checked in Windows: TechPowerup GPU-Z --> Bus Interface: What does it day?

The latest bios for MSI B450 Gaming Plus AC is fantastic! M2 drive is now detected as PCIE x4, XMP works cleanly, and I get a 100% boot up rate on a 3900x so far.

Fantastic work, MSI. Thanks!
