Any news about new BIOSes for 3xx and 4xx? All vendors have released 1.0.0.3 already except MSI, they just silently removed even BETA BIOSes (released about a month ago) from support pages.....

Hi

1.B450M MORTAR  e.g. => >>CLICK<<
Description

on the official support page, the download link has been removed. The download link on the blog post at the top of this thread now just points to the official support page. Which doesn't have a BIOS newer than March 2019.

I mean, it shouldn't bother me since I already got the update... but I just bought one of these boards to upgrade a bandmate's PC with. It's a good thing I'm the one doing this, since I already have the file. What would anyone else do?

In case anyone else didn't notice (i didn't) - the offical support page for X470 Gaming Pro Carbon has no BIOS newer than v.2.8 (March 2019)... and the link on that same page to "Beta BIOS support" goes to ... another link to back to the official support page, suggesting there's no compatible bios available at the moment.

But there is:  if you ignore the normal BIOS download page, and instead go to "Compatibility" (where you'd normally find the QVL lists for RAM for different processors), and hit the CPU tab...

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/X470-GAMING-PRO-CARBON#support-cpu

There are links to the beta 2.9 bios versions there available to download.

(*Amusingly enough, the link is labeled E7B78AMS.29M but the file contains the 2.9o BIOS... which, at least in my experience, worked better)

I presume even MSI may have forgotten about this, given they nixed the same files from the official download page.

*correction: they've now moved x470 GOC BIOS v2.9o back to the official support page

no changes at all for 2 weeks, despite all their juggling around of the file-availability since then

Which is to say:  still only 8x on the PCI bus

The same beta BIOS is back up on the x370 titanium page.

Really unsure what they are up to ?

Maybe they are just having technical issues with their websites

:pompom: :hiha: :bonk:

To make you all aware:
Using different region settings will impact on what you see.
Make sure you use Global region for latest / with least delay updates. That gets all the updates first.

I didn't even know it was possible to change regions on the website?

I've been made aware that MSI engineers are working on improving BIOSes in the upcoming days.
Also due to fault at source (AMD's AGESA), it is not always possible to get things right if the main source is screwed up.

Thank you for sharing this.

I'd like to report that 7A40vA8 (for MSI's B450I Gaming Plus AC) is down right amazing

I'm now able to fully OC my RAM with no issues what so ever. I strongly recommend users of the B450I upgrade to 7A40vA8

near a month now and nothing for the x470 m7 ac bios, its a disgrace, ill be jumping ship asap, and wont touch msi again,

with such heat in my country and the voltages ramped high, instability and a not fully functioning bios, its just not acceptable.

What CPU are you using? I believe other users have reported that the m7 AC does have a stable bios that supports Matisse just fine.  I strongly recommend you go through this entire thread. Several users have posted several helpful tips. In fact, I think someone here was able to undervolt their 3900x withought having any performance penalties.

It looks to be solved. Thank you, anonymous benefactor! I'm yet to try any overclocking though; .290 was dreadful for that.

x470 Garming Pro Carbon? If so... nice! I'm suffering that issue aswell.

Will wait for non-beta as x8 doesn't seem to bottleneck my 1080gtx..

I can also confirm the 2A1 BIOS does fix the x8 limitation on the PCI bus for the X470 Gaming Pro Carbon

I believe 1 month after the release day, should be enough to provide release quality BIOSes for all AM4 motherboards.
Good luck with that. When MSI has over 50 boards
Also loads of issues are caused by the source (AMD).

Does this version still comes with the gray interface? Do you think it is stable enough for daily use?

I'm currently on x470 gaming pro carbon (bios 29m) with r7 3700x. my main problems: pci express locked on 8x and my rams have 75ns latency.

It's almost perfectly stable but I'm not much happy with the interface and I believe my nvme drive has a weird performance. Would it worth a try?
