You don't need a CPU, you can use BIOS flashback.

Before I decide to just lock the thread.....I'm going to reiterate this : >>Please read and comply with the Forum Rules.<<

This is not the place to complain about MSI, it's support, or how long it's taking to get a beta bios out. Posts like that do nothing to help others, the community, and to be honest, are against the rules (which you agreed to when signing up).

If you would like more information, or to complain, do it to MSI directly here : >>How to contact MSI.<<
Or go to Facebook and do it there, and tag MSI.

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR IT.

Is there an estimate of when MSI will have a working BIOS for X470 boards? Every person in this thread I saw comment about it said the beta BIOS isn't detected at all to be flashed.

Also, is it known if there will be a BIOS update for next year's Zen 2+? I'd like to know how long MSI support their products.

I strongly recommend anyone new to this thread read through all the posts. Many users have already found some solutions to a few problems. The focus here is to report and find solutions to issues that could arise, after all, these bios updates are in Beta (it shouldn?t be locked?.)

If you?re trying to flash through MFLASH, and can?t see the file, try formatting the USB stick your using in NTFS, that worked for me, and other users here as well.

Another possible solution, is the tool that was shared on the 1st page of the thread.

And for those asking about when BETA BIOS for motherboard XXX will be out, this again is NOT the place to ask. No one here will have any idea. It is best to contact MSI directly. See : >>How to contact MSI.<<

I am not able, nor authorised, to give any ETAs for BIOS releases.
But I've been told that BIOS for most motherboards are ready to be rolled out. At some point this month.

To answer your questions in advance:
1. I am not authorised to say which are ready and which are still work in progress. So don't ask for it.
2. They will be released when MSI is sure they're safe to use. And once they pass all other testing.
3. For BETA related questions, see >>How to contact MSI.<<
4. I will not be answering any further questions on this topic if it breaks rules or seems to be a redundant question (e.g. is x370 xpower ready yet? )
5. For any other questions, also see >>How to contact MSI.<<

Any statement on bios for X370 xpower gaming titanium that was sold has enthousiast gamer profil... 2years ago.
The beta bios has been removed and now i don't find the information in the bios section of my motherboard if it will be compatible with zen2.

I will get my Ryzen 3900X in a few days. If I will update my X470 Gaming Pro Carbon AC to beta bios, is die memory support 3200 MHz and above included yet? Or is it still the version witzh limited ram supprt?

Greetings

In the same position, we bought the "flag ship", seems like they only needed our money..... (this is not based on total lack of support thus far for Ryzen 3000 but the below par overclocking results against its competitors)

As per forum rules
Keep criticism constructive. Attack the idea not the person.

So we can attack the idea but not the 'person' what about the 'company' ?

My constructive criticism,

1/ MSI dont sell flag ship products with underwhelming VRMs and underwhelming BIOS support
2/ MSI you should treat you customers with more respect by informing them in advance about BIOS support through ALL media available, that includes public forums.

That means giving some form of ETA, not 'its coming when its ready', type of statements

I should try that the next time I want to buy an MSI product,

"Well, you know the price is 189.00? but I will pay you some money',

puts some money at the till, takes board and leaves ..................

Thanks

Is most certainly disappointing. Contact support about bios support last week to say yes board will be updated by the 7/7, so went out and bought a 3900x which I now can't use as they lied. No bios has been released and now all I get is sometime this month possibly.

Got this answer when asking about my B350 PC Mate:

Thanks for contacting MSI technical support.

Regarding your concern, please don't worry about it and we will release new BIOS for this CPU to the website soon, please focus on the BIOS information on msi website. Thanks!

Thanks for your cooperation in advance?

Best Regards,
MSI Technical Support Team

It's still a 'soon' release. Asked them what soon means now, at least approximately. Let's see if we'll have a date.

I know it's not the most important for now, but I'd be happy - and IMO many power users would be - if MSI would release bioses with some CPUs support removed, but full UI and OC profiles added instead. I know it's rather not possible to make them official for people, but some power users would handle this removed support and will be definitely happy with functionality bring back.

Yeah, I'd love to see that UEFI BIOS tool be able to "roll your own" - like build a BIOS just for you that only supports what CPU/arch you tell it to. I'd totally ditch all the onboard video support if it brought back the easier to use UI.

May I ask, are there plans to update the original post with new BIOSes as they roll out? If so, could we ask for update history so, for example me having a X470 Gaming Pro Carbon, can look on this page from time to time to check if there are any news for my particular board?

Or is perhaps the respective mother board product page -> BIOS page the correct place to check out for new betas?

Big thanks in advance!

The best place to look is MSI's support page for your board.  I'd check there, daily at least, and get the released BIOS once it comes available.

Until then all you have is the beta available on the beta page (if it has one).  You can't expect anybody to post anything here about your board having a BIOS come available, whether a beta or released.

Also: if you don't have a Ry3k CPU I'd not bother with updating to it even if released. It makes no sense.

This is honestly what I'm hoping for but there is no way MSI will do this when they already struggle with releasing the current BIOS.
Maybe one of the custom BIOS modders will have the same idea as us.

my mobo is X470 gaming pro carbon and I fresh beta bios successfully.

but .. after freshing this beta bios

i can't find pwm selections and my water pump is now working on it's max speed:cry:
