Thanks!

I formatted a USB stick to FAT32 and put the files on it but when I select it to boot it doesn't work.
It says something like "Unplug USB drive. Press any key to restart".

I have a feeling I missed a step somewhere?

I'm sorry but I don't know what that means. As I mentioned earlier I'm sort of a noob when it comes to this.

Could you please tell me exactly what I need to do and with which program?

Hi there, I would just like to confirm, I have the GT70 0NE 610u Dragon Edition and believe this update is applicable, but just to confirm please.

Bios : E1762IMS.70T

EC : 1762EMS1 version 5.03

Are there any issues to be aware ? I am pretty green at this kinda thing. Windows installer ? Better to not install from within windows (thought I might have read that somewhere)

Thanks Ken

hello there,

just a quick question : any way to check the actual version of the EC ? Got a new GT60 with a 675MX here in Germany and it shipped completely new, boxed, everything but the BIOS is PW locked, strange aint it ? Gotta send it to MSI for a reset but thats another problem.

Everybody is saying they?re getting temepratures below 80's without this modded firmware ... i had out of stock temeratures starting in the mid 80's like Crysis 3 and Battlefield 3 running without OC. with 767/2300 i get in the 90 ... hell even 800/2500 runs solid just really hot at 90 degrees ... fan is then kicking in audible but not that bad as the "turbine" mode ^^ .. but no frame dropping, no artefacts no nothin .. so my question is : What has been done to the notebook ? Any way that i could investigate ? Loving the potential on my piece that i got and dont want it to sacrifice when they cant remove the BIOS password ...

Propably just a selected model :p ... ^^

oh forgot ..

MKT NAME : GT60-75X48FD
Produkt-SKU : 0016F3-SKU22

Motherboard Model: MSI MS-16F3

should be safe to flash even if the bios is pw locked and i cant read the actual firmware version of the EC ?

and another funny thing ! it came preloaded with win7 but there was a password ... i purchased one without a OS

i would really like to but as i mentioned above on my first post that the notebook shipped with an BIOS password. It was orignal sealed.I have no idea what it could be. Mainboard version is MSI MS-16F3 so that should be safe to flash ?

flash it within windows
One noob question: Will this beta EC unlock the whole motherboard's power supply limited below 180w in the official EC? So do I need to choose a 200W or more power adaptor if I want to overclock both CPU(3940xm, unlocked TDP) and GPU(780m)?

Hi Svet,

I am looking for the most recent BIOS and EC FW for my barebones GT60 ONC.  I have the USB flashing tool, just need to find the most recent files and not sure if the MSI website has the right ones posted for me.  Among just staying current, my screen does not turn-off when closed [never has] and I can no longer hibernate.  Sys reg has right hibernate settings as does the BIOS and power mgmt. in windows 7 64 Pro.  Also, I have the most recent vers. of my graphics [GTX 670M] divers and have had this issue over multiple driver versions.  Much appreciated!

Mainboard:  MS-16F3
PCB Version:  REV:1.0
BIOS Version: E16F3IMS.30U [was originally E16F3IMS.10U even though I have Super Raid setup via dual MSATAIII daughter board]
BIOS Date:  1/21/2013
EC-FW Version:  16F3EG62 VER4.00 build 7/4/2012
