Sandy Bridge mobile CPUs not posting on GT60

lo all,

I wanted to bench a few Sandy bridge CPUs on the MSI GT60 OND model. I already own Svets Bios (E16F130IMS.30S) However could it be that the Sandy Bridge microcode is not supported. I've already tested one 2510M on the Acer laptop and it works there. On the GT60 it stays powered on, but I've got no display, nor does it seem to boot into windows. I always resetted the CMOSS. The Ivy 3210M and the 3610QM work fab... The Sandy 2410 and 2520M don't post :(

Any input is welcome

So i'm really wanting to flash this on my GT70 (1762) but the question is, which version do i install? My NB came pre-installed with Win8 but i then downgraded it to Win7. Should I use Win7 or Win8 version?

check your current EC version if its Win7 one, then use win7 ec, and use win8 if your current is win8 one

yes EC reading is only for some older machines
look in bios setup system info instead

So I just looked it up and according to BIOS it's 1762EMS1 ver 5.03

I'm still a little unclear, it doesn't say T16 or T17

Come on MSI, provide an unthrottled version of the latest EC.

It's not that hard.

this is test EC, not supported officially only for testing purpose, there will be no updates on this.

I know, I read the thread.

Regardless, why not release an updated version? The community is asking for it and that's not a bad thing.

This may sound stupid but I just need a second opinion as control:

1) 1762EMS1_T16.rar is suitable for my GT70-0ND-1063DE? I have Windows 7 64bit installed atm, however, it came with Windows 8 preinstalled... so is the T16 or the T17 the right one to use?

2) What exactly is a barebone? How do I recognize it? My GT70 has the MSI logo on it, so I assume it's not a barebone?

3) Is there an original EC available for download just in case I want to revert my actions?

Thx

1 tell your current ec version, look in bios setup

2 check your current BIOS & EC versions, they will tell if its barabone or not.
barabone means, not retail model, but customized build and some of retail features can be missed like Turbo or others.

3 what is your original EC version?
