installed this motherboard and within 20mins it was in flames at the back of the twin 8 pin power connectors  :crying: everything was at stock speed  as id just built the system..i have tryed to get in contact and and looked for a rma ticket on the uk web site but every thing seems to be either off line ,out of hours or in  the case of the phone call i made , basicly to naff off and use the uk web site....any help on the rma side of things and also if anybody knows why this would happen and could give me a heads up, that would be great  ;)

From what you've said, the power supply would be the first thing to look at. What else is in your system? >>Posting Guide<<

In the UK, you need to request an RMA with the retail store you bought the board from.

hi ...i have a brand new corsair ax1200 power supply and i connected the two 8 pin cpu power cables on the motherboard to the power supply
2600k cpu
cosair ax1200 power supply
4gb kingston ram(2133...1.6v)
2*nvidia 580

and the board was from somewhere in europe(france i think)

Even brand new, decent brand power supplies can fail. To be sure, get the power supply tested, since you don't want to cause any more damage if it is the power supply that failed.

The only way that would normally happen is due to a short circuit for some reason. Do all of the MB mounting stand offs line up with the mounting holes of the MB and and that there are no extra ones screwed in behind the MB?

Your warranty is with whoever sold you the board, so you need to return it to them.

MSI UK does not do direct RMA service to end-users, only to distributors and resellers.
