Hoping this helps someone else, but I couldn't figure out why Bluetooth wasn't appearing in Device Manager then I started testing BIOS settings one by one and found it's due to an unrelated setting with HD Audio. When HD Audio is disabled, Bluetooth will permanently disappear until CMOS is cleared then Bluetooth reappears.

Bios Version: All current versions through 7E49v1A15

Steps to replicate:
  • Clear CMOS and boot to Windows
  • Bluetooth is present
  • Disable HD Audio in BIOS settings and boot to Windows
  • Bluetooth is missing permanently until CMOS is reset

Other settings don’t seem to affect Bluetooth and re-enabling HD Audio in BIOS does not re-enable Bluetooth. Also, yes, I'm running a clean install of Windows and tested with multiple versions and the Windows installation isn't the problem, it's definitely a flaw with the BIOS. It also doesn't seem to be a problem with the WiFi/Bluetooth mini-PCIE card itself as I've disassembled and checked that also.

I've also read others having WiFi issues. I don't use WiFi, but I haven't had an issue with the WiFi portion of the card. Other than Bluetooth issues, I was experiencing random freezes prior to AMD releasing the 6.10.17.152 chipset driver, but those seem to be resolved now.

Since I am using an external audio interface, I have disabled HD Audio in the BIOS settings but Bluetooth is now gone too. At least, I don't have any stability issues with the BIOS update 7E49v1A17 so far.

After turning off HD Audio in BIOS 7E49v1A1A (Beta version), Bluetooth still does not work after Windows starts.
I inserted a Bluetooth adapter into the USB port and it works ok.

Can any MSI long timers chime in when we can reasonably expect a non beta version BIOS to come out? What is the general teething period for this stuff?

I have the same issue:
Board: X870E Carbon
BIOS: 7E49v1A1A
CPU: AMD 9950X

Disabled Onboard Audio
Disabled Onboard VGA

Bluetooth is not working. After "set defaults" in bios still not working.

Hey guys,

What's the best BIOS to use at present then?

I have an issue where bits of the BIOS are just not rendered on the screen, I get various numbers showing up around the edges in place instead.

Never had this with MSI Z790 Boards, this is my first MSI AMD board in a long time, well since the 3800x chips were out.

I'm using a Gigabyte FU48O Monitor, which is fine in the BIOS with my Intel setups.

Also just to add, I cannot get my mouse and keyboard to work at the same time in the BIOS, It would seem only 1 USB port works for a wireless dongle when in the BIOS.
So its either keyboard or mouse.

Thanks

Don't worry about it being BETA as in most cases it is just released early before being fully tested and approved for Main Production
Now if it has a T on the end of it treat it with caution if it was not linked by one of the Forum ADMIN or Moderators

Other than Bluetooth issues, I was experiencing random
BT has always been a bit of a problem

The Laptops do the same thing

Update FYI:
Here is the new BIOS v1A1B which should resolve the problem when disable HD audio, Bluetooth would disappear.
This is premium support :) I will give it a try.

I also found a workaround:
1. Clear CMOS
2. Enter UEFI/BIOS and Disable iGPU (if you need too), Integraded Audio
3. Boot OS
4. Reinstall drivers

I don`t know why, but Win 11 did not pick up the bluetooth device drivers and I had to install them manually
