Theese hotkey flashes use the following syntax:

And choice 1-6 will automaticly flash your bios with proper parameters
to avoid any problems.

Please make sure to use the correct bios series for
your particular MS7030 board.
There is alot of boards named MS7030 now which use different series.
This collection is for convenience (ALLin1).
I take no responcibility for users flashing wrong bios or a dud bios flash.
Goto http://www.msi.com.tw and look up your MS-7030 board and
PCB version to see which series you should use.
You can also check this yourself by entering cmos - standard setup - info
to see what series is on your board already , and update to latest for the same series.

Bios series : 1.1 -> 2.1
Bios series : 5.1 -> 5.4
Bios series : 7.0 -> 7.1

BIOS for K8N Neo2 MS-7025 1C3 .
Custom version rev.1 has non working HT 3.5x/4.5x multipliers .
Wasn't aware of it but they both defaults to 5x .
This is no good in an overclock attempt as you would attemt to run the HT far over it's spec .
Theese two is removed again .
In addition the 150mhz text is aligned in memory index , and 216/233/250mhz dividers
removed as they gives 100/130/200mhz anyway and they are alredy there .

Please use the new version

Dear Tripod Member,

In order to guarantee a high-quality service on Tripod, we had to close your website http://members.lycos.co.uk/syar2003/ as it was found abusive.
Both HTTP and FTP access have been closed.

:undecided:

Guess my rather large ISO , was what tipped them over .

There are more and more people asking about how to flash bios outside windows from
DOS without having a floppy drive .

Well here is the solution .

I Have compiled a ISO file that holds all the most used bioses for all the K8N Neo motherboards .
The cd also includes the volkov commander (norton commander clone) for easy navigating .
Click on the "MSI K8N NEO/FSR & Neo2-Neo4 Bioses" text over the platinum BMP picture to get to the directory listing.
Go into the sub directory " ALL_BIOS_ISO " and download the ISO image for the bootable BIOS compilation CD " MS_CD5.iso " .
Then burn the ISO with your favorite cd burning application.

Again note the correct flash routine , clear PnP , clead cmos , clear dmi , and load defaults after flash , theese have become
essensial to use with flashing to ther newer bioses for all boards and is even posted on MSI's bios pages.

Flash with the command line
AWFL859G.EXE 7100NMS.350 /py/sn/cc/cd/cp/f/e
(change award flasher exe program and bios file as neccesary)
After flash , turn off the PSU .
Power on again , enter bios , and load bios defaults followed by a cmos exit with save .

Note that this is just a service . I will take no responsiblitity of the outcome of the bios flashing .

1.57 gave me some problems with upped fsb , black screen on boot
and overclocking reset message - loaded defaults .
This with same settings as with 1.56.

1.58 runs just as good in my rig as 1.56 , found no issues with it (yet).

Update of boot block is not always neccesary.
Theese tables show with a letter the boot block version of each bios.
The bat file includes a /wb switch which reprograms bootblock .
If the flash goes wrong with boot block flashed and the boot block gets corrupted , no floppy rescue can be done.
Then it's adviced only to use the /wb swich in the included bat file when neccesary.

Hmm tested this BIOS in the hopes thay my problems with my IDE-PCI card would get resolved.
Versions higher then 1.8 would garble up my PCI-IDE Card BIOS and often then just hang the pc.
Now i hoped that this version would correct the problem but no such luck :/
Now it goes passed the BIOS screen of my IDE card but when starting the os the system just locks up.
And im 100% sure is is related to that card because when i remove it the system just boots fine

Now i noticed a new setting in the BIOS that has to do with this
It was something in the trend of "PCI Adress for IO ...."  and it asked for some value
Cant remember it exatly what it was and already went back to 1.8
Is this option related to the problem i have ? and which value should i enter ? will it fix my problems ?

This thread indicates that you may have to flash back to ver. 1.8 or upgrade your add in card I believe:

Good luck.

Btw; I am currently using your Easy BIOS - No issues what so ever.

Running my 3000+ Winni and Value RAM at HT: 265 - using 150 dividers for DRAM.

Thanks for the effort, and leaving the CnQ feuture available

My new Opty 165 Dual Core likes this BIOS just fine   I'd like temps to be reported in HW monitor, but that might not really do me any good anyway - read below.

Deeez said:
This is the 2nd time i tried this bios.  One thing i noticed is that at first C&Q works for the first few days but goes away and i never get 27C again. just 34C. Im going back to 1.4, i like seeing my temp at 25-27C.

I'm not running C&Q at the moment but...

Seems like every BIOS that I've used since 1.5 jacked my temps up. For example, the 1.8, which most found lowered their temps 5C compared to 1.5, mine rose by that much.

Even this Opteron seems to run warmer than it should - at an indicated (by SpeedFan) 41C idle with only 1.3v, a XP-90 H/S (w/ recommended 92mm Panaflow) & an extremely well ventilated case in a 75F room. Granted, my AS hasn't had time to "cure" but other users of other boards that I've seen with this same H/S, fan, CPU & voltage combo have idle temps averaging 10C LOWER.

I experienced this with my previous 3000 Winnie as well.

But this isn't SYAR's problem, since he uses MSI BIOS as a starting point.

I'd almost think that a batch of Neo2 Plats are floating around with some sort of anomaly with their temp sensors & how they interact with their BIOS.... Weird.

Anybody else getting wrong DRAM speeds when using 150/200 divider?

Shanks: Same speed whatever equation - as long as multi is set to "stock"

Hi, Syar, I think your bios mod is great. I have a request for you, do you think you can enable-add the new memory dividers that the Rev. E cores have (unnofficial support for DDR 433, DDR 466 and most important: DDR 500). This would be great, I would let us that have those memory to enable those speeds withouth overclocking the HTT bus at all. Some mobo manufacturers like DFI are already enabling those dividers.

They don't work (rev E cpu or not) , so what use will it be .
They derives as 100mhz / 133mhz /100mhz .

It's more important to have 150 & 183 occupying the divider space than those 213-250 which dont work.
Original 1C3 100,133,none,166,none,200,216,233,250
Modded 1C3 100,133,150,166,183,200,none,none,none.

Syar, or anyone,
Please help!  I have the MSI 7125-010 board and I cannot get the stupid thing working.  It has to be a BIOS issue.  I am starting with just one SATA drive (WD Raptor 74GB) connected to the NVIDIA port 1.  I boot to the Windows 2003 Server x64 CD.  It displays the F6 notice.  I press F6 and use the latest 64-bit drivers from NVIDIA.  http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_win_server2003_x64_amd_6.66.html  Then when Windows gets to the point where it should ask me to format the drive, it just hangs.  Thinking it was just an issue with NVIDIA SATA ports, I bought a Highpoint SATA controller card and installed, it does the same thing.  Now I am stuck.  Nothing seems to work.  I thought that I would disable any, all onboard NIC's etc and see it that cures the problem.  It is VERY Frustrating.  Do you have an EASYBIOS for the 7125?  Do you think that might work?

MSI 7125-010 MB
2 GB RAM (two chips)
AMD 64 Dual core
WD Raptor 74GB SATA

No no easybios for 7125 , i tried to make one but it didn't come out right (had bugs) .
And not having the board myself makes it hard to customize bioses that is error free .

Use a newer driver and update the floppy , this is the latest 2003x64 dedicated
ftp://download.nvidia.com/Windows/nForce/standalone/6.69/nForce4_amd_6.69_winserver2003_64_international_whql.exe

No luck ..
Try this:
Have only the raptor disk connected (no other sata/pata hd's)
Enable raid in cmos setup and set sata1/2 as raid.
Reboot an enter nvidia raidbios.
Create a single disk dummy raid , a striped array (use defaults), then add the raptor disk to it.
Make it bootable in nvraidbios end exit .
This is equal to a dummy raid we always make on scsi adapters for servers running with only one scsi disk .

Use the driver floppy and load sata class driver + raid class driver .
Let the partition tool in xp setup do a full format (not quick) so that all clusters are checked and corrected if needed.

Still no help.  I was encouraged when I saw in bios that the striped array (SCSI-0 NIVIDIA STRIPED ARRAY) was the first listed in the hard drive boot order but it (windows) still doesn't see the drive.  :wall:  grrrrrr.    Could I be doing something wrong with the driver disk?  Actually the link you provided said that the drivers were not compatible.  It looks like the like is supposed to go to x64 drivers, but they are actually 32-bit.  I used the drivers from
http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_win_server2003_x64_amd_6.66.html
and I extracted the exe with winRAR.  Then copied all files from from \IDE\WinXP\sataraid to the floppy.  (11 files)  Now you have me wondering if the hard drive is OK.  :)  The NIVIDIA RAID controler sees the hard drive, (says it is healthy) but Windows doesn't attempt to see it or format it.  I have a 400 GB drive that I can go through these same steps with.  That 400 GB drive is going to be part of my storage array, if I can ever get this thing working, that is.  LOL

I thought the driver disk has multiple versions if you scroll up/down (both 32bits/64bits) .

It should also be non problematic to use the regular xp64bits drivers for 2003-64bit .

Remember to load both the ide and the raid driver from the floppy (use specify with "A" two times)

If your system is stable otherwise i would recommend updating to the latest bios before going further .
There has been dependencies between the ide/nvraid pci rom embedded in bios and driver versions .

EDIT:
Think I have found something:
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=db3e09866260fbe56be9df2c3de196df&showtopic=50659&st=0&p=352404&#entry352404
There is a downloadlink in this post for 6.67 package that appearently will work wit 2003-x64.

hmmm....  I will try that unattended install.  I made an unatteded install disk for other systems that use pata IDE drives on a 32-bit windows xp.  That was actually kinda cool.  That MSFN    http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/1/    site REALLY helped a lot with making that CD.  I spend months on that CD till I finally got ALL of the drivers, windows hotfixes, and a few other installs, and reg hacks in there.  But it is sweet.  I can boot to the CD and walk away.  When I return, in about 30-minutes, windows xp sp2 is setup with all of the latest patches and looking exactly the way I like it.  I haven't continued on that project.  I inteded to add in Office 2003 and other software that I use and burn it all to an unattended DVD, but I haven't devoted the time to it.

I have never tried making a Server 2003 unattended, or a SATA unattended.  This could prove to be a bit of a challange.  Thanks for the link, I will try it out.  I might need a few days to figue out all the steps involved.  This whole F6 thing is rather silly.  What if I didn't have a floppy drive in this server that I am trying to build?

Oh and to answer your question, yes I was entering both drivers on the floppy.  Everything that I have read to date says that both are required.  This is very new to me.  I am an experienced computer geek, but this is my first server, and my first SATA box.

I really do appreciate all of your help with this.  I owe you a cold one.  :)  I will let you know if I have any luck with the unattended server 2003 with SATA drivers.  This could prove to be fun.  :)      :bonk:

Hi Syar,
I have just updated the 1st system from my sig. with the advanced version of BIOS 1C3. Here are some points, which I think will be important for people using the winflash procedure.
1. I followed strictly your instructions about using Winflash.
2. I downloaded the latest MSI Live Update software dated 09.01.2006 - ver.3.74
3. When Winflash loaded the 70125CU2A.1C3 BIOS file (prior to asking me whether I wish to update or not) my USB mouse stopped working, but the keyboard still worked.
4. Using the keyboard I pressed "Update"
5. The update procedure started and towards its end the machine seemed to have frozen.
6. I waited patiently about 30-40 seconds and then noticed that Winflash automatically initialized the restrat sequence
7. I waited untill "Windows is shutting down" appeared on my screen and then shut down the computer manually without waiting for it to restart.
8. I unplugged the power cable for ~ 1 minute and restarted.
9. The BIOS was OK and I set the desired values.
10. BUT I noticed that Windows was very slow to boot with the progress bar crawling and stopping for 1-2 minutes. When Windows finally booted, it appeared to be working OK.
Now the purpose of the update was to take advantage of the 183 MHz setting for the memory. I have two Corsair XMS 3200 1G sticks, which hitherto worked at 200 MHz. The CPU is Venice 3200+ set at 2400MHz - 240 HTT, while the memory is set at 166. I wanted 183, since this would give ~ 217 at the memory, which is I think well within its possibilities. Yet when I set the memory at 183, leaving HTT at 240 and the CPU multiplier at 10, Memtest86 reported that the memory was actually running at 240MHz, which is way too high for this brand. Then I switched to 150 MHz and this multiplier seemed to be working well (180 MHz in resulting frequency according to memtest86). So probably the 183 MHz multiplier is not working properly and the system interprets it as 200.

EDIT
memtest86 turned to have read the memory speed in an erroneous way. When I went to Windows, CPU-Z reported a memory frequency of 218.7 MHz.

I had problems using winflash with a usb mouse & keyboard.  Winflash should be done with a ps2 mouse and keyboard I think.

My board has "croaked"!!! turned on yesterday and a nice puff of smoke came out! Turned off instantly but damage must have been done. Opened case and couldnt see where or what had blown till I plucked up courage to turn it back on. There are two small chips to the right of the NBFan1 socket and on turning system on one of the fore mentioned glowed a nice orange colour and smoked a bit more!! I turned off and am RMAing the board. So fingers crossed

Hi Syar!

Hey I just noticed over: http://www.swjka.com/neo2/view_forum.php?fid=39 that they have a new beta bios for the K8N neo 2, it's the 1.D

Any news on an easy bios ver 1.D from you?

Best regards,

JameX

I'm not near the machine right now or else I would just try it.

Does the EASYBIOS version enable power on from keyboard/mouse (PS/2) in Wake Events?
Looks like a screenshot of that page isn't included with the others.

The original option is only for wake on S3 in the original MSI BIOS (even though there is power to the keyboard/mouse when the system is off).

Thanks.

It was quite a bit of work remaking and it's an early beta stage of 1.D , so i have no plans making it for 1.Db1 .
In addition Sideeffect has already made mods of it , and he also rearrange the menu's
some for better layout , so i don't see the need for it .
Perhaps when 1.D goes final and if it's superior in some ways over 1.C .

signal64!
Code for wake on kb/mouse from soft off has never been implemented from MSI in their boards so there is nothing that
can be enabled .
