I've got a z77 MPOWER running BIOS version 17.4 and I was hoping to flash to the latest BIOS version 17.10. I used to just use the MSI forum USB flash tool for my previous MSI boards but all Intel ME stuff gives me pause. Can I request an image for 17.10 to accomplish this or there a better beta version I should be using?

Look here: >> BIOSes<<

If its not there, let me know and I will post it when im home.
Thanks Xmad, I checked there first but there's only the beta bios (<<<[Z77 MPOWER] BETA UEFI BIOS [E7751IMS.Hxx Releases]>>>). Is that currently the best choice over the non beta release?

You're right, my mistake. Sorry about that, I got the current one from your link. Thanks a million.

I use M-flash to flash BIOS + ME :) so far so good... but for BIOS only, I use  MSI HQ flashing tool or via USB FD Bootable.
What would happen if I use/flash, example : BIOS X, with ME that supposed to be flashed with BIOS XX or other BIOS, xmad?

I flashed my BIOS to from 17.4 to 17.10 using the MSI USB flash tool and the archive from the previous link. Everything was successful so I installed the latest Intel ME from the MSI website (8.1.30.1349) for the z77 Mpower. I didn't get any errors during the install but when I check in device manager, the version is still listed as 8.1.10.1275. Am I missing a step? I thought the BIOS update should flash to v.8.1.40.1416.

The me driver is different from the me bios extension.
Check in the uefi bios to see the extension version.

I just checked in most (all I thought) of the options in the UEFI and I don't see where the ME bios extension version is listed. Do you happen to know offhand?

Whoa I just know from Svet that M-flash is not always stable for flashing and could lead to BIOS corruption, better use MSI HQ USB Flashing tool for flashing my BIOS+ME from now on :)

Flashed a Z77Ma-g45 from 1.9 Bios to latest 1.B0 bios. I wanted to update the ME driver but when I downloaded it from the product page it said I already had newer driver installed and if I wanted to overwrite. Hence I have not installed it. How can I have a newer version than on the official product page?

None of them is called 10.8B3?

.AB0 = 10.11

The naming scheme on the website is the "user friendly" version. The one here is the "real" #

So which file should I download if I want 10.8 along with ME firmware 8.1.50.1456, or compatible ME firmware?

I'm on 10.10 and ME firmware 8.1.2.1318 as of today. Last time I flashed I used M-flash, but it never updated the ME firmware.

From my understanding, 10.8 is the most stable version for the MSI Z77A-GD65. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It all depends on your hardware. Are you having issues with the most recent version?

I had issues with my SSD, it didn't boot correctly. Halted at a black screen with a "-" blinking. SSD connected to SATA 1 and in AHCI mode. The UEFI switched around the priorities, when I re-entered the UEFI it looked like it tried to boot from the HDD connected to SATA 7. I did find a workaround for it, the SSD would boot in AHCI if I set my other SATA HDDs to IDE (ASmedia).

However, I reflashed yesterday to 10.8 using the forumtool. It also flashed my ME firmware to the version that comes with 10.8. Things seems to be working now.

I installed the most recent ME driver (the one ending on 1730), is that correct? Shouldn't it match the version of my ME firmware?

No, the firmware and driver are not the same thing. As long as it is the latest listed driver for the firmware series, all is good. In other words, don't install a 7 or 9 driver if the firmware is an 8.

HI.
I flashed bios update v1.8 via M-flash with "bios+Me" update on my Z87 Mpower motherboard.
After succesful instalation, my computer rebooted and stuck at bootloop.
I switch to bios B and used Msi USB flasher method.
I think I got problem with ME installation.
Can you please provide me bios update which include ME update along with bios?

Thanks

FPT will do both, you can also just use the forum flasher and archives here: >>BIOSes<<

They include the  bios, FPT & .bat file to make this easier.
