BIOS update

I noticed Windows 11 had downloaded this update, and thinking it was something for Intel, I clicked on it. To my great joy, this thing was a BIOS update. It took off and did its thing and rebooted and all is operating within normal parameters. I was half horrified when it began to update, not knowing if I would see smoke escaping from the cooler vents or whatever. I've not witnessed MSI updating their BIOS like this before. The update is - LLC. E17L31MS. 110
This leaves the question: is this something actually new that MSI is doing now?

My apologies for throwing out a question that apparently has stuck everyone. Not sure what I was thinking about when I posted that. From the amount of silence, I take it there is no problem doing BIOS updates from Windows 11. Again, so sorry for the question.

Yes, it is normal to update BIOS via Windows update. Don't be worried about that.

I would never ever do a BIOS update inside a running OS. ;)
Too much can go wrong.

No need to worry until the OS (and I mean every OS) does something stupid. The internet is full with posts where a failed BIOS update bricked the device.
