Bluescreen with 20H2 Win10 update Z97 issue

I get a page fault error trying to install the KB4571756 (OS Build 19041.508) update (Windows 10 20H2 update.) Tried media creation tool, update assistant, in-place upgrade, clean install on spare drive, etc, etc...

When I contacted Intel they said to contact MSI. MSI said to do a clean 20H2 Windows install which didn't fix it. Then they said RMA the MB!

It looks to be an issue with the IME driver (TeeDriverw8x64 - Intel Management Engine) which the newest I can find that works is version 11.7.0.1057, newer versions just says 'This platform is not supported.' All make it bluescreen though...

Any help would be great, MSI support hasn't answered back at all after I told them I didn't want to RMA the Motherboard as its a driver issue...
I've been trying to get this installed since September of 2020 and it won't let me install any other updates if I suspend this one.

If you can not do a clean install of windows Windows 10 20H2 then one media disk is corrupt or you have a hardware fault. Drivers have nothing to do with a clean install of windows. till windows actually boos up to install the drivers.

Yes, system specs would be fine.
By the way, why do you install Intel Management Engine drivers? You only need it in Enterprise surroundings. Never bothered to install them myself; saves a lot of trouble.

It's installed by default upon Windows install.
Media disks tried are not corrupt.

I found others also have the same issue as you in other forum here:

And some said that disabling Intel Management Engine in Device Manger can help, but personally I won't recommend doing that but still you can try.
If I were you, I might try to install the IME driver from Z97 Gaming 5 website and try again, if the update failed, I would go asking Microsoft and Intel or just stay on version 2004.

Lots are having the issue if you Google it.
I've installed the version from the website and tried a few more as well but still get the bluescreen.

So why not disabling IME in device manager and deinstalling the drivers? It's the first thing I do with intel boards. You literally don't need IME at home. It's like a third leg with cancer. It even is a security risk at home, says EFF: https://www.eff.org/de/node/95854

And I hate saying it this way, but you're talking about a 7 or 8 year old platform now as well, unfortunately.
And in this case, you're talking about a problem that relates more to Intel than anyone else.......MSI isn't going to be able to fix Intel's driver issues for them, it doesn't work like that.

I would take others advice and either disable it, or not update Windows. At some point, hardware becomes unsupportable. This is a 6 generation old chipset at this point, and the performance is now falling between the low and mid range systems coming out.

I get what your saying darkhawk, but its a <7 yr old platform that when I bought some of the parts was in warranty up till last year. Other much older platforms have zero issues with this IME driver...

I've contacted Intel and they said to contact MSI. I have heard NOTHING from MSI for two support tickets the past 6 months.

I've also tried to disable it and it re-enables on these Window updates.
