just having a major issue here, nothing too tragic ... its just recently upgraded to the MSI eclipse and heres my headache

- MSI Eclipse MoBo -
- i7 920 Processor -
- 4X 1Gig G.Skill DDR3 10600 CL9 9-9-9-24 -  http://newgskill.web-bi.net/bbs/view.php?id=g_ddr3&no=4
- 1000W PSU seventeam st-1000E-AS -
- MSI 9800GX2 Nvida Geforce -
- LG optical DVDRW DL - sata
- LG optical HDDVD/BDRW DVD DL - sata
- 2X Western Digital 500G SATA -
- 2X Western Digital 1000G SATA -

as its booting its all nice and good, gets to DDR InI waits about 8-11 seconds and reboots

things i have tried.
power down and swap all RAM modules, try A0 alone to A0, B0 then none at all, (got a no RAM beep then)
Clear CMOS, then RAM swapping again.
end result the same over and over
all this time i get no video signal to my monitor BENQ 24" 1920X1080

dificulty is its now 8:20 PM, store closed and its all the ram they stocked in the DDR3 Range

other option is a waste another 2 hours puttin back the old MSI P965 with its vista hate issues

any ideas?

Try running your RAMs at 1066MHz and see how it goes.

just how? i cant even get to bios and the all i can find is the hardware overclocking switches in the book, the rest on ram setup is in the bios!

Is your Base Clock Switch in the 133 (default) position? (Your mem. speed should 'auto' to 1066 with the B.C.S. in the 133 position).Try initial bootup with only 1 stick of RAM in DIMM slot #2 (AO). Is the 6 & 8 power pins firmly connected to the 9800? Have you tried both DVI connectors? Is the boards 24 & 8 pin connectors, as well as all others firmly seated?

yeh its all mickey mouse, tried both sockets on the GPU, and its connectors glow green when power is connected correctly, base clock is in the default position, and as first stated i have tried A0 alone and even populated A0 and B0 together, and the powersupply is attched with all extras.

its as if it recognises the ram, and then decides to just restart. heck its probably getting to GPU InI but resets before the DLED-2 could display it, but the card was working in my old system before i transferd it over.

the problem could just be the cheap G.Skill ram. but i highly doubt that both packs (with sequensal serial numbers) were duds, but i have taken them back and orderd some new stuff online that is 1066MhZ max, it could just be that the mainboard i have is old stock with the 1.1 bios, just need to boot with 1066 ram and update. but i think this time i will avoid cheap ram.

it does recognise no ram state, so the system should work.

 Keep us posted as to your progress. I believe the performance difference between 1066 & 1333 is only about 2-4 FPS anyway. As long as the RAM's rated V's. are within the 1.5 & 1.65 range, all should work out just fine.

success, the ram arrived and in less than 2 min i had it installed, and running, and i noticed a few things about the 1066 ram compared to the initial purchase of the G.Skill stuff.

this time i purchased some Team Elite 2 gig kit, dual channel, it fitted neater into the ram sockets, and not like the G.skill stuff, it was litterly not as tight, and the heatsinks on it are fitted better to, they don't slike off like the first one.

now all i have left to do is setup the os.

recomend: some 1066 DDR3 during inital setup, once all running, update bios (hold breath during process) then try
the faster ram.

thanks to all those who posted sugestions, and i hope the readers got some useful info
