Hi, I just received a "MAG x870 Tomahawk WIFI AM5" from the egg, and the box is not wrapped in plastic. Does this mean I received an open-box item? I did not order an open-box.

I have not contacted them yet, I just received it a couple hours ago. I assume it should be wrapped in plastic, but I wanted to find out for sure, before I contact them. Everything is in the box, and is unopened Cables/screws/Thumb drive.

I Sent a message using their chat-bot system, and got this.
  • My Motherboard was not wrapped in plastic.7:01 PM

  • Any product that is returned with markings or writing made by the customer on the original box.
It looks like I should wait a few days for the CPU cooler to arrive, and test this board out. :/

How come I can't just get a new box like a normal person?

MSI "NEVER WRAPS BOXS IN PLASTIC" if a MSI Box is Wrapped in Plastic then the Shop who Sold it did it not MSI. Never got even a Brand new one from MSI that was Wrapped in Any Plastic and have had alot of them over the Years.

Yep, never in my life have i gotten any MSI board where the box is wrapped in plastic or had any other seal. And i've had so many of them, as i also build PCs for people. Only the tape on the antistatic bag that the motherboard is in can act as a seal, when the pattern breaks like this,

For other brands is similar. You may get a tape or two on the box (not with MSI though), but generally the boxes are not shrink-wrapped in plastic either.

if they have been cutting back on "PLASTIC USE" they have been doing that for 15-20 Years now LMAO
Coff Coff Ya sure
No plastic wrap, but lots of plastic bags in the box though

Oh, I just realised the top tier board doesn't even get an anti-static bag
