Just got this unboxed and using it in class when I have already had 2 BSODs - first time, I was filling out an online form and the cursor froze and the second time, I wasn't doing anything and it BSOD'ed. I downloaded nirsoft's BSOD viewer and I see the driver culprit nvlddmkm.sys - an Nvidia driver.

I've tangled with this before with the 460M in my M18X but was hoping I could escape it with the 570M - guess not. Any ideas before I ship this to MSi?

I have the exact same model computer that you do with the EXACT same problem.

I did literally 10-20 fixes using google, none of them worked.

The very first time I powered up the computer I went immediatly to nvidia and downloaded the latest driver. I would suggest that for you.

Well haven't had any issues with BSODs since I posted this, but now I'm experiencing random freezes lol

MSi is about to lose a new customer.

MSi is about to lose a new customer.
At least give them a chance to sort this out. If you've had problems 'out-of-the-box', then first contact your reseller and see if they will exchange it for you. If they can't or won't do this for you, then contact MSI to resolve it.

Well, the thing is it is so inconvenient to have to reinstall everything. Just how many times should consumers have to do it with a $2000 machine??

I agree with the op you've paid 2k for this machine it should work right out of the box, I had some similar issues when I first unboxed mine paid not to much attention as i thought it was something i was doing until i read your post,

I did at the time though update all my drivers and update all the msi drivers/firmware/bios with the live update and had no issues,

Also i would like to add that i did install the nvidia beta drivers last week and my machine literally had a hernia but i would stick with the machine i have had mine since October and absolutely love the quality of the build ect and will be a future customer I will say though that MSI customer support SUCKS [***CENSORED***] they take forever to get back to you, I have an open item with their customer support since october 16 and still no one has looked at the ticket and i paid 2k for this???? but it seems to be a common problem with all manufactures now a days

hope this helps :D

I also installed the Nvidia beta driver but haven't had any hiccups so *knock on wood*

I agree on the quality of laptop manufacturer customer service...it seems no one provides good service! :(
