Just out of curiosity I have an X58 and was having issues because I had 12 gigs of ram in it. Thanks to the help I got here I took out 6 gigs and it ran rock solid for 10 days then yesterday it froze rebooted and froze again. It turns out my 5 year old n52 was on its lasts legs and was broadcasting a macro I have set up over and over again. I pulled it an uninstalled the software then got the new n52te, very nice hardware suck [***CENSORED***] GUI, and the system ran stable again.
So the evidence would point towards the n52 crashing it.
So is it possible that the open ended broadcasting was crashing the system due to buffer overflow? I knew that back in the day holding down a key could cause issues like that. I thought computers were smarter now.
