Can I use 8gb ram together with 16gb ram?

Hi, I'm planning to upgrade my RAM. I currently have an 8 GB RAM module installed in my laptop, and I've purchased a 1x16 GB RAM module. Can I combine these two RAM modules in my laptop, or will that cause any issues?
 
Kindly recommend to install two RAM with the same model to avoid any compatible issues.
