I have installed an AX1800 USB adapter and drivers due to poor performance of my desktop's internal network card, but can't get it to work. I also checked for driver updates. Both adapters appear on Device Manager (Windows 10). If I disable the built-in card through Device Manager, Wi-Fi disconnects entirely without the USB adapter taking over. I was trying to follow the instructions on the linked post from the Microsoft Forum, but I When I click on change adapter options on the Network Status page, only my network appears. When I right-click on it and select Properties only the built-in adapter appears. I also can't find an Advanced Settings link.

Sorry about the former post. Upon further investigation, I found that the driver for my new USB adaptor was not fully installed. I was getting a message that it was not compatible with my operating system (Windows 10 Home 22H2 64 bit.) But after I downloaded another copy, I was able to installed it. and was able to switch to the USB adapter through Settings and my speed tripled.
