Hi,

I'm attempting to update the firmware on my MPG 491CQP QD-OLED but it gets to about 3% then the app closes. The monitor continues to work but the OSD doesnt work until I power cycle it.

Version I downloaded MSI_MPG_491CQP_QD-OLED_FW.017_D531.bin https://www.msi.com/Monitor/MPG-491CQP-QD-OLED/support#firmware

The current FW version is 0.13
Gaming Intelligence is 0.0.2.82
Windows Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2
OS build 26100.2605
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

I have made sure that only DP and USB B cable is connected to monitor. I have tried running the app as Adminstrator but it makes no difference.

Please advise?

1.Please remove Gaming Intelligence form apps & feature under setting menu in Windows OS.
2.Please restart once.
3.Please re-install Gaming Intelligence v0.0.2.82 once.
4.Please try to flash firmware again.

if its not working I would level it for now till next Firmware is released as failed flash can brick your monitor

Please refer below steps to re-install MSI utility-Gaming Intelligence.
Step 1. Please uninstall original MSI utility-Gaming Intelligence on app list.
Step 2. Restart once.
Step 3. Delete the folder C:\Program Files\GamingIntelligence.
Step 4. Restart once.
Step 5. Please install new version of MSI utility-Gaming Intelligence to check.

I spoke with support and they suggested returning it via warranty. But I cant be without a monitor for 20+ days. I noticed last night there is a new version of the Gaming Intelligence software and a new firmware file.

The new gaming intelligence software doesnt even recognise the firmware file extracted for the current or previous now firmware so it wont even attempt to load it.

@fauc I had tried this also.

I created a quick video to show what the new version is now doing or not doing as the case may be.

Note I have tried running this as Administrator also.

I could only solve my problem by starting with a fresh clean build of Windows 11. Maybe there was some conflict with the other MSI companion app.

Bump. MPG 321URX. After selecting the bin (tried different versions of the fw too), I get "Firmware update failed."
Tried resetting the monitor, uninstalling/reinstalling Gaming Intelligence, rebooting, etc.
