Is there a way to edit the different ECO button power profiles on the GX series notebooks? I usually change my power profiles so that the start menu power button and the physical power button shut down the machine. But whenever I use the Eco button profiles (gaming, Eco, etc.) It reaplies the origin setting which cause the notbook to sleep whenever you hit the powerbutton. Which is fairly annoying because I use my notebook in trains and when I want it to turn off quickly and chuck it in my bag when I reach my destination.

you can define "Power button" function{what to do when its pressed} from control panel power options.

Change the powerbutton behaviour to sleep instead of shutdown, and leave the start-button to shutdown.
That way you have both.
It's in the powersettings of Windows.

Thanks for the help, but I am aware how the change the different vista power profiles. The problem is whenever I change them, pressing the Eco button changes them right back to default. For example I've changed the gaming power profile to shut-down on powerbutton and start menu button. But now as soon as I press the Eco button and select the gaming profile everything will be reset to sleep mode and I have to change the settings all over again.

So I'm wondering if it's possible to change the Eco button profiles? Or should I just forget that I have an Eco button and just use desktop shortcuts to change my power profiles?

You have to re-configure for each one profile, since when you change the modes its switch the power profiles.
E.g switch to ECO then go and configure Power button, then change to Normal/Other and go again to configure the Power button

I've already tried that. I've gone through every power mode using the Eco button (gaming, movie, presentation, etc.) changed them all to shut-down mode. But every time I reboot the profles are all changed back to sleep-mode.

Could be, but it seems to hold onto all setting sin the normal energy profiles (Balanced, power saver, high preformance). It just can't hold onto the MSI Eco-button ones.
