Clean install

Done a clean install on MSI katana GF76 12UE-469UK Intel i7 12700H [geforce rtx 3060 6gb] due to windows /intel/ nvidia updating with non msi specific drivers.
Am now running and updated all drivers on MSI Centre/driver check. Windows has been updated to the latest after the factory image install. Windows has a list as long as your arm of "update drivers." Should I ignore these or let them install [ about 20 of them]. I reinstalled due to a few strange behavioural problems, which is why am worried about updates from windows.

Create a restore point - and go for it. Windows 11 Home will keep pushing these updates you can only defer them so many times.
There is a option to not allow Windows to install drivers.

I think the ability to not allow update to do updated drivers has been removed. I have been all through the windows update preferences/settings and it was not listed. I have raised a ticket with msi support asking about windows update drivers and why there driver site does not have many updates. When I first got the laptop [2023] Intel updated loads of drivers nvidea updated loads of display/game drivers nahimic updated [no idea what nahimic is] the problem was the laptop had some weird response to a few touchpad and jittery scrolling etc so that's why the painful re-install of everything. Don't want to make the same mistake again with non msi specific drivers. Thanks for your input.
 
I feel your pain and i think most of us have been there with some nightmare issue and you cant pinpoint what the hell has happened. Software installs can also mess things up not just drivers.
As long as you are installing the main MSI Drivers recommended from MSI Centre App ; Support ;Live Updates tab and using MS store for the Microsoft APP listings.
The Windows updates should be safe. You can always Factory Rest (power upholding F3)and make sure create a restore point is switched on - then at least you can go bck to a time your laptop was working nicely and reset from there----instead of a full factory reset everytime

I think windows creates a restore point when drivers get updated or apps loaded. Anyway I am going to do a Macrium Reflect Image as the system is [with all apps now loaded and windows up to date]. Better than a factory restore as can put back everything to todays state. Factory restore takes hours of update downloads and app loading and setup of windows from scratch. Should of used macrium before! Thanks for input, I had to inititiate windows system restore as it does not get done as standard, which your screen grab prompted me to check.
