I got my computer for 2 days, running great for 2 days(games etc..) and when I left my computer on for a while (afk), it shut off by itself. When i tried to press the Start button, the DVDRW LED light flash once and stopped. the CPU/PSU fan moved by a little and stopped. There is nothing wrong with the JFP1/2. Also tried to replace the PSU with an older PSU with lower Watts. Still, no love. I don't have many hardwares such as modem, floopy etc... Is my PSU 2 low on 12V/ 3.3V? If it is too low, why did it run when I got it and stopped after a while? If it is the PSU, do what you do guys suggest for STABLE system running and the brand prices that is adequete for this computer

I have:
CPU: AMD 64 3200+
MOBO: Via K8T8000 Chipset based K8T NEO
NEC DVDRW
250GB Western digital HD 7200 rpm
Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB
512MB DDR Ram
No floopy, modem.
USB.
PSU: MaxPower 350W
3.3V-14A
5V-40A
12V-12A

Hi

It sounds like your power supply went into the protection mode. My TT does that if something happens. fan and light comes on for like a sec and turns off. I cant turn on the system for a whie. I have to unplug the poiwer from the mb for 30 seconds. and also the power cable. It is to protect ur hardware.

But since you have tried other psu, I guess that may not the problem. Then try clearing your cmos. Refer to Page 2-26 in you manual. Your bios version will not change but your settings will change to default again.

Hi
That should boot, is the 4 pin power supply to MOBO in place and secure.

I would start by clearing the CMOS, JBAT1, disconnect power lead, and put the jumper on pins 2 & 3 for 5 secs, then back on 1 & 2, Restart, go into bios and set the boot sequence if you can. Use the safe defaults, save and reboot.

Also check the case and MOBO for grounding wires, make sure nothing is near the MOBO, and all leads are clear of case.

Disconnect any unneeded drives or USB devices.

If that don't cure it, try differant RAM, just 1 stick.

okay, i tried what you did, Cleared CMOS, Checked multiple times on 12V 4pin and 20pin that it is secured and plugged in completely. I also tried to replace an older version of ram 256 pc2100 and took the motherboard out to see if there is any short circuit. didn't work. I then found out that when i take out the 4pin 12V power to MOBO. I can turn on my computer and fan DVDRW works. but no display on video card. (don't think the CPU is running either) When plug in the 4pin 12V Power supply to MOBO, the fan moves like before .5seconds and stop. HELP.

Hi

Is the 4 pin the right way round, it can be forced in the wrong way, there is a small shoulder on the correct way, it slips in easily.
