Connecting the front panel leads on an GD65

I'm not really clear on the purpose of the M-connector kit. Is it better to plug the leads from the front panel into the M-connector and then plug the M-connector into the Mainboard, or can you just plug the leads directly into the Mainboard? I'm also confused because I don't get the instructions in the M-connector kit vs. the user manual.

I have a Coolermaster HAF922 which has the following front panel leads:

Power Switch
Power LED
HDD LED
Reset Switch

Should all of these be plugged into JFP1 or should everything but Power LED be plugged into JFP1 and the Power LED lead be plugged into JFP2?


Also, my leads aren't labeled + and -. Instead they are labeled with a triangle on one pin and G on the other. I assume that the triangle is + and the G is -?

If you want to plug in directly to MB then go ahead. Those M-connectors just make a single plug for all of the individual wires coming from the front panel. The M-connectors are just for convenience, plug the wires into whichever ones you would use before you put everything in the case and then when ready you have a single plug instead of fooling with individual wires which can be a real pain sometimes. I got some with my P45 and wish I would have had some in the past after using them. Same with the 2 pin jumpers on the MB that now have the extended finger tab on them, another nice touch.

Power LED goes to JFP1, some cases have a 3 pin plug on the Pwr LED with no wire in the middle hole, it would then go on JFP2 instead of JFP1.

Yes the G on those wires would indicate polarity, -, gnd, ground, negative, take your choice. The other would be positive or +
