so ive listed my pc, here comes to problems

so i put this budget beast together and hoped and prayed and it booted nicely. but i was running 32 bit windows 7 and i wanted full benifits of my i series CPU so i formatted my drive and installed windows 7 x64 ultimate. went on a treat but i kept getting constant errors. and BSOD, so i assumed my copy of windows was faulty, and took it back to my local retailer and asked for a new copy. took it home and the problem persists.

all the drivers ive downloaded and installed are x64.

also during installation of windows i kept gettin errors saying it failed to un compress files and failed to read the disc. so i tryed booting from usb stick to avoid disk read failures, so i tryed that and i got the same errors. so i then downloaded windows 7 and tryed that via usb and disc and still got the errors. so i swapped my sata cables. then my pc wouldnt turn on. so i cleared the cmos and it started up, i did the setup and loaded optamized defaults. but when i boot it loads my msi image then it displays a black DOS like screen with a underline in the top left corner flashing for around 6-8 seconds. this didnt happen before i cleared cmos.

now i finaly have windows 7 on here i am still gettin errors and alot of my drivers that i am downloading keep givin corrupt data errors.

BSOD. im gettin these every 30 mins maybe a little more, they are according to my event log event id 42 ( kernel error) and physical memoray dump.

im starting to really stress, i have read that the low voltage ram could be the exscuss for the BSOD's and i should up the voltage to 1.55.

and possibly my hard drive is passed its day?

please if any one knows any soloutions to these problems i will be truly greatfull

Test your RAM with >>Memtest86<<.

Run diagnostics tests on your hard drive with the software from the manufacturer's website.

Searching for the RAM you have shows they should run at 1.65V: http://www.ocztechnology.com/products/memory/ocz_ddr3_pc3_10666_gold_low_voltage_dual_channel (Says the same on the Overclockers website) If that's the case then it's no wonder you're getting problems running it at a lower voltage. You need to set it to 1.65V in the BIOS.

Any error is a bad thing. Go back into the BIOS and manually set the timings to 9-9-9-24 and adjust the command rate to 2T.

Make sure the voltage is set to the required 1.65V.

i put my other ram in and did a windows mem test and with in 2% total test i got a message telling me my hardware was damaged and i should contact my distributor :S i will try your advice

Crucial.jpg

A kit of these Crucials may solve everything. :-))

Seems to be quite a few people with OCZ having problems like that lately. I suggest return them and exchange for good memory.

i have literally this second rma'd for full cash refund, and have placed an order on some crucial :D:D, but could the ram be causing my windows program faults? im gettin errors left rigth and centre, just programs crashing.

Bad RAM will definitely cause the problems you've been having. Hopefully those Crucials will fix everything for you. When the new RAM arrives, run a test with >>Memtest86<< to check they're stable. Obviously, you'll need to change the voltage to 1.5V if you purchased the ones suggested by HU16E.

That Crucial should be correctly identified and run at proper SPD settings from the very beginning if RAM settings are at 'Auto' in BIOS.

my crucial ram arrived today i installed... my pc booted like a dream. been running for 2 hours and not a single error or crash :D:D:D:D tyvm every one for helping me and for providing this dream ram :):)

tyvm every one for helping me and for providing this dream ram
 Your welcome! I sure hope these green stick black chip Crucial's are in MSI's RAM compatibility list's for P/H55's. If not, they sure should be! :-))

Another testimonial for Crucial.   :emot-tip-wink:
They just work. Yet to see a thread on this forum where someone has had proven instabilities due to Crucial RAM.
