Core i7 temps

I am looking for some input on the core i7 temps when overclocking.  Currently I have an i7 920 with a thermal take V1 copper cooler, with a 110 mm fan at 2150 rpm.  Now I have my i7 at 3521 Mhz with a idle voltage of 1.208 and a load of 1.218, or I should say in BIOS it is +0.03 on top of 1.192 default.  My QPI is also +0.03.  My Dram is 1.55, and that is all I have changed.  But my temps when running LInx, with 4.4 Gigs of Ram doing a 20,000+ size problem (like 24000 mainly) I get temps under load of 83 81 79 78.  Which for me I do not like.  Now I know linX really pushes them temps but I think they are high.  Could it be the amount of Ram I am using or does that matter, or the problem size?  I ran it for like 2 hours and get a max of 83, it stays like 81-83 on that core when loaded.  I am worried that it is too warm.  Now the stupid [***CENSORED***] I am put my CPU fan on backwards, so it pushes into the case and not towards the rear fan.  But I turned the rear fan to push air into cpu fan and then out the case, the front of case it all mesh air filters with holes in drive bays.  I have a thermal take armor+ full atx case. I have the bottom fan now pulling air out the front, so a backwards S what have you.  I also have a 230mm windows fan at like 900 rpm pushing on my GPU.  My hd 4850x2 does not have a built in fan that blows air out the case, its exhaust blows on the windowed fan (since it is lined up there) but it is basically going into the case, and it runs hot, like 45 C when idling.  Now my rear fan is like 1500rpm a 120mm pushing and my front is a 1200rpm 140mm pulling.  I amtyring to get more fans, but if I do I do not know where to put them.  I also am trying to get some arctic silver cleaner to clean CPU and switch cpu fan.  I think my CPU fan is screwing this all up. My IOH is like 127 C and I am just worried about pushing my cpu anymore or am I pushing iot too far under these conditions.  I does not blue screen under load now and runs good.  But for 24/7 use, not under load , is is a good idea to keep it or under clock a little until I get more airflow.  Give me some input please! :confused2:

My idle temps are right now and usually very close to this (=/-3 degrees here and there) 47 core 1 44 core 2 46 core 3 and 45 core 4.  I also have had the computer on all day running Prime 95 and Linx so it is not a fresh start to the day, then they are usually like 41 40 39 40, on a fresh boot.  Those to me I like and I do not think they are that bad considering the situation with my fans and the air flow in my case at this time.  My ambient is around 15 to 18 degree C.  I am thinking about maybe this weekend taking my cpu fan off and turning it around so the hot air is pushed out the rear rather than out the front, a lot of room to move that air in this case.  Now my other question is I used Arctic silver 5 and can I use a 90% rubbing alcohol and Q-tips to rub the thermal paste off of the CPU, and the fan heat sink?  And if I do how careful should I be of getting the alcohol on the transistors on the cpu?  I need some insight on this matter.  If I do it might help a few degrees, but I will take what I can get.

I am going to see if I can sell my cpu fan the thermaltake v1 and buy a new one.  Now any opinions?  I am thinking of a Thermalright ultra extreme 120, only comes with the one 120 fan, or the Noctua NH-u12p se1366, which has the 2 fans.  The thermalright has 6 heats pipes and Noctua has 4.  I don't know each close in price I think TRUE is 5 bucks more.  I was thinking maybe of adding another fan to TRUE, it looks like a better unit.  I was thinking of selling this thermaltake on ebay, as a used unit.

If your IOH temp is 50? in idle and 60? under load do as i did =
Remove your chipset cooler clean it and put some artic silver5 on the IOH and ICH and use bolts of 3mm and plastic washers to put it back. Do not over tighten.
My IOH is now 43? and max 50?.
The asus rampage as a IOH temp of 52 under IDLE so these are normal temps , but cooler is better.

I found that on my eclipse MSI used a purple thermal/adhesive for the IOH and ICH.  It was hard and loose-- like during shipping it broke contact between the heatsink and the chip.  Cleaned, prepped and replaced w/AS5.  Replaced Spring clips w/ nylon bolts, washers, nuts and temps avg--37-44 Deg.  Only do this type of work if you are comfortable with it, you don't want to create worse problems.  There were early bios temp bugs so I would start there before going as far as Tom and I have. Then investigate heatsink/chip contact options.
