Just built a new system using MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI DDR5.
The CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-U12S, it is plugged into the CPU connector (not pump or ext) and it does spin just fine.
It is a PWM fan and it is set as such in BIOS. I am on the latest BIOS, 7D25vA3.
Problem: the CPU cooler is not detected by BIOS, showing 0 rpm in Hardware Monitor.
I think the issue is that the fan's speed is quite low, and the BIOS "decides" that there is a problem with the fan.
If I disable Q-Control for this fan, it starts to spin up and the BIOS does start showing the fan as spinning once it gets to about 800 RPM's (ultimately it reaches 1600).
If I enable Q-Control again, the fan starts to spin down and I can see it go 1600 - 1400 - 1200 and so on, and once it gets below about 800 RPMs, the Hardware Monitor again starts showing 0 RPM (fan not detected).
MSI - can this please be fixed?
Specifically, can you lower the threshold for "fan is spinning too slow -> treat as not detected" in the BIOS, so that low speed fans can be used?
