Hi renenewedbullet, & welcome to the forum. If you disconnect & remove the D-LED2, clear CMOS with the power cord removed, reset bios settings, does the problem still persist?

To rule out a bad mem. stick, have you run memtest utility, or tried each one individually in the black A0 DIMM slot?

What are the specs on that PSU(especially the amps for the +12V rail)?

For memtest, run test #5 20x and test#7 20x(this will be faster than running all tests 20X or even 5X).  If it passes tests #5 and #7, you have good assurrance about the sticks.

pc wont post i click power an everything turns on just black screen and says CPU Ini. i replaced the cpu today so im thinking maybe mobo broke somehow?

The Ultra X3 has a single +12v rail rated at 70A (assuming he's talking about the 1000W model in his first post).

I am al,so having the same problem.  I went to change my north and south bridge heatsinks.  Although the thermalright hr-05 sli.ifx's did not fit due to the graphics card I was using.  So I went and put the old heat sink back on.  Now the old heatsink had a foam pad and some plastic on the underside.  I took off the plastic and the foam, so I could use some Arctic cleaner, and re apply thermalpaste.  Now my board will not post.  I made sure no AS5 got into the transistors, and I went and put electrical tape on the underside of heatsink to see if the transistors are making contact with copper and that does not work.  Help!

I am using the MSi eclispe x58 SLI mobo.  I these parts:
Diamond 4870 x2
Thermaltake toughpower 1200W
Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme
Core i7 920 at 4.0 Ghz
G.Skill 1333Mhz pc-10666 CL9 RAm, overclocked somewhat

I do not know what the problem could be I tried many thing.  I tried re-doing the heatsink on CPU and redoing the heatsinks on the IOH and ICH and got no were and the tape and readding a piece of foam.  Maybe I ruined the transistors?

Ok so i got a new CPU i7 2.66GHZ and a new Mobo same MSI eclipse now its saying CPU Ini. and it shuts off an restarts 1min or so after i click it on (no screen or anything still)
