CPU LED after Bios update

Hi, my problem was caused when during a bios update, my PC turned off causing a bios error. After that, I tried to reset the Bios by removing the battery and doing a CMOS Reset, but when I did it, the PC started only turning on the CPU LED and without showing any signs of doing anything else.

It should be noted that I have two processors, the one I was using during the update (AMD Apu A8-9600) which I was using to test some things, and my main CPU (AMD Ryzen 3 4100). I was doing this update so that the BIOS is compatible with this processor.

I don't know what I should do, on one occasion I used Blind Flash for another case, but I think it won't work due to the processor problem.

If the power is cut off during BIOS update, then the chance of board bricking is possible.
Your board does not come with flash BIOS button so it would be nearly impossible to recover from your side unless your local shop can do a BIOS rom direct flash (reprogram BIOS chip with hardware tool) for you to recover it.

Why did your PC turn off? Did something like this ever happen during normal use? What's your PSU and its age? Or was there a power outage in the house, from outside?

On these low-end board models, anything with an A-chipset, they never fit a Flash BIOS Button / USB Flashback feature, so the only chance is this kind of method with an external flash programmer (bit more info here), with which you flash the newest BIOS version directly onto the BIOS chip. Wether you do it after some research, or have some local shop do it as plutomate mentions, this will be the only way to bring it back to life if the BIOS content is corrupt.

Basically, I came to the conclusion that it had shut down thanks to the processor overheating too quickly, which seemed strange to me because it had never happened to me before.

I researched the problem and figured that might be the only solution, but I wanted to communicate on the forum in case there was any other possibility.

I found it very strange that when that happened, the PC turned on, but it didn't give video, (I don't remember if the CPU LED was present at this time, but I think not), but after removing the battery, it started to fail completely.

I thank you both very much for your help, I will try to get what is necessary to repair the BIOS and I will inform you by this means.

Yes, i find the CPU overheating theory a bit strange too. For the BIOS update process, the BIOS is basically running on safe parameters, and the fans spin faster than they normally would, plus the CPU temperature is displayed throughout the update. In all my MSI BIOS updates i've never had any CPU even get remotely hot, they all stayed around 40°C or so i think. It is not something that stresses the CPU.

Please tell me your PSU model (check the sticker on the side) and roughly its age. We've had it in the past that older AM4 boards finished flashing, but the BIOS turned out to be corrupt, it wouldn't boot anymore, with only the CPU LED on. In all those cases, the PSU was of questionable quality and/or age (sometimes really bad models), so that was a common denominator, but i could never prove a direct connection. In part because once the damage has been done, you can connect the best PSU on the market and it won't make any difference anymore. So this kind of problem is difficult to diagnose afterwards.

If you have a bad/old enough PSU for it to potentially be involved in this (which i almost think), then it may have actually been the main reason for the problem, and you will have to do get a new higher-quality PSU to prevent further trouble in the future. I can already link you my Guide: How to find a good PSU for that eventuality.
