Hello, I have a msi raider ge78hx 13vi, i9 13980hx rtx 4090. Since around a week my cpu temps increased by 15-20 degrees while gaming. Idle temps are like 45 cpu 35 gpu. My cpu always been around 70-75 while gaming. Since a week, when i play warzone it goes to 95-100. Does anyone know what the problem can be? I cleaned all dust, repasted but still it doesnt work. I dont know if it is because a windows update or anything. If anyone knows a solution please help me .

In the last time some (a lot) Windows Updates made problems.
Can you post a list of the latest updates? January until today.
On the 11th is the next patch day - maybe a update solves your problem.
Do you use the MSI Center? Which version? Did you update it? Did you change some settings in the MSI Center (fan curves os something else)?

I think i understand it now. The problem is warzone/black ops 6. After season 2 update, the first 30minute/1hour of gameplay cpu getting very hot, but after its getting to normal temps. I tried it with other games and had no problem with temps.

The problem is warzone/black ops 6.
I did a short search and upps. Lots of people have / had problems with it.
Do you use the new Nvidia App for driver updates?
The last time that Nvidia mentioned Warzone in the release notes was GeForce Game Ready Driver v566.03 which is 3 months old.
Activision says: The recommended driver version for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is 560.70.

ye repasting was most likely not needed, msi is using ptm 7950/7958 (for top end laptops atleast) there is no point repasting, its best paste on market and it actually last for years.

NVIDIA recently drivers are creating issues for many users which includes GPU not detecting (50xx), black screen and overheating for all other GPUs.

Not only with the drivers ....

I just noticed today that when i play another game, after some time the temps went to 95-100 degree suddenly. It is very weird. My cpu usage is very low while gaming. Idle temps are very very good. Also when i do a cinebench test, temps going max to 85 degree. When i open warzone, the main menu is capped to 60 fps. It jumps very quick to 85-90 degrees, just at menu with 60 fps. Then when i get into the game it goes to 95-100 degree. Today i started play horizon forbidden west, i had just normal temps 70-80 degrees, and after like 30minute-1hour i saw that cpu temp went same like it goes in warzone 95-100 degrees.

Which driver version do you use?

Welcome to the club. This is Nvidia's fault. Blame Nvidia.

We misunderstood each other. I did not recomend this driver.
But it looks like you are adventurous. Maybe look for a driver form the 566 series.
And use DDU to uninstall the other driver before you install a new / other driver.

Yeah i used ddu and removed the driver, then installed the driver you said. Warzone just gave that error what i posted, but i still could play. Unfortunately, the cpu temps were still high. I tried driver 566 aswell before but it didnt really help.

Then I am out.
You can wait that Nvidia releases a fix, if it is Nvidia's fault.
Or search on Reddit and other forums.
Most problems were faced by other people too and solutions are already found. You only need to find the solutions.
With the appropriate search words - search engines are really helpful. Even ChatGPT or CoPilot can be helpful.

I appreciate your time, thanks. I already searched for everything but didnt find anything. All they say is clean dust, repaste, while i did all these things.

This is a hardware based solution.
I believe your problem is software related. Don't search for "overheating" - search for
"driver problems WarZone" "WarZone Nvidia" or something like this.
I know that searching for a solution can be / is time consuming and frustrating. And sometimes you have already found the solution but you just did not understand.

My Laptop has a Nvidia Graphics Card. Some times I use a TV as a second screen.
A Linux problem which I faced. I installed Manjaro Linux with the Gnome Desktop Environment last year shortly after I bought my Katana.
For this you need a Display Manager. You have two choices X or Wayland.
X is old, lacks some modern features but stable in combination with Nvidia cards.
Wayland is more modern but you read a lot about problems with Nvidia cards.
I choose X and all was great.
Some time ago I gave Wayland a try but the connection to the TV did not work.
Searching the web for solutions, trying, not working. Rinse and repeat.
The final solution was to add so called Kernel parameters which is just writing them in a text file and then update the Boot Manager.
I read about it over and over again but just didn't understand it.
