Hi, I'm another owner of a motherboard with a stuck sensor

Im currently testing some custom bios they are sending me, no success so far, if anything solves the issue, i will post it here

Your board was not on warranty? im trying to fix this but i have the option to send it to my local msi representation and get a refund, but im trying to avoid the massive headache, plus if they manage to fix this with bios updates, will help everybody

The board has warranty, hence MSI said they would repair it, but I have to pay my own shipping to get the board to them first.

I'm also on A70, as I tried the 2 of the 3 pre bios and it causes a conflict with a pcie hba card I have. I go from a 10second post to a literal 2 minute post. If I remove the pcie card, then I get 5 second posts. But I need this card, and 2 min boot times when I have to constantly reboot from stuck sensors, is not a fun proposition.

Your board is a X870 or X870E?

I tried 2 custom bios they sent me, so far no success, reported the last one and they are checkingg

Sorry, I'm on an X870 Tomahawk. I just tried the latest firmware, same problem. 2 minute post time stuck in A0 debug, and then when posts, BIOS doesnt see my PCIe card. I humored them and proceeded to windows. Ran Aida64 stress test and cpu sensors froze after 4 and a half minutes. So no fix for the sensors, and still a conflict with my pcie card.

I was able to confirm the CPU Package Power in Hwinfo64 hits 0 when it freezes. So I set an alert in Hwinfo64 and to write a log when it happens so I can see mid gaming when it happens, as I only noticed after a session when the temps didnt come down.

Just want to document that it's been happening to me again, this time at seemingly lower temps than before.

My max temp on my 9800x3D was 80.2 - it froze reporting at 70.8C though. Normally when it's froze for me it's been during a spike in the 80s.

I'm trying to solve it by adjusting the BIOS settings.
1. C-State = disabled (So that the processor cores are not disabled)
2. PBO = advanced
3. PPT = 180 W
4. TDC = 110 A
5. EDC - 150 A
I ran test CPU on the AIDA 64 for over an hour and the temperature didn't freeze, the power didn't drop to 0. Frequency = 5.2 GHz.
Then I ran a 3D Max rendering test for over two hours. Temperature and performance were fine. With my settings, the CPU temperature never exceeded 65 С.
I don't play games and can't test my assumptions in games. Could you take my settings and use them for testing?

Turn off the PC and try again, there are some boots where the bug never occurs.

You tuned my parameters for BIOS and got an average temperature of 90 degrees?
I used test CPU from AIDA 64 and temperature didn't up above 67 C. (I use 9950X)
These is my test, but Russian language.

No, with your settings I had values similar to yours, but the bug still occurred. Now I'm trying more aggressive settings. In one hour of testing it hasn't happened yet, but I need to run more tests.
