Sure. The thing about the button method is, usually it's used when there's no way to use M-Flash, for example if the factory BIOS version of a new board doesn't yet support a new CPU you want to use, or when you have a corrupt BIOS you want to flash again, things like that. So then it doesn't help much that M-Flash accepts any USB, since you can't access it.

On the other hand, if you are able to use M-Flash for updating, you'd always prefer that over the button method. Not only is it more convenient, it's also much less choosy about the USB device.

Hey, can you tell me the name of the pink USB drive? I bought an MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard, but I've been trying to update the BIOS using the Flash BIOS button. I used three different USB drives: an 8GB 2.0/3.0 SanDisk, a 32GB 3.0 drive from another brand, and a 16GB 2.0 drive from yet another brand. With all of them, I had the same result: I insert the USB drive, the red light starts flashing, the motherboard lights up, the white CPU light stays on, and up to this point everything is fine. The problem is that the red BIOS light never stops flashing; it blinks very quickly but never finishes.
