Hi!

A few days ago I bought a new rig, works great exept when i shall play games.
First I thought that I needed som new drivers. I downloaded the newest drivers from the manufatcurers, even bios, but nothing happened. Still it won?t play games. I?ve also tried other games, still the same bloody problem!
This is what happend: I start the game and play for about 1-10 min. Suddenly the game stops and shuts down. Sometimes a messege pops up and says something like: An error has eccoured and will shut down, sorry for the inconvinience. Sometimes the whole computer shuts down and restarts.

So, has anyone an idea what this strange problem is all about. What shall i do?

could be any of several reasons .. psu being short on power is one .. memory is another well known issue .. have u run memtest86+ ? ... also audiology soundcards give similar problems on some systems .. therefore

1 if u have an audiology .. try using onboard sound for a while see if the same happens

2 run memtest86+ to make sure ur ram is stable as silly things like what slots they occupy makes a big difference

3 if u can borrow someone elses psu with a high amp's on the 12v line try that ..

im sure others will give u many more things to try

best of luck

yep the 12v max amps are marginal

and as he said i recommend the 430 enermax with 32a 12v

Memtest86

never hurts get the plus

check vga card has an irq of its own

<----------- has a happy pc on a "marginal" 17a 12v line .. hmmm i was being sarcastic about the shares in enermax .. sheeeeeesh not to be picky ... but would a person running a k7NForce board know the requirements of the K8T Neo board ?

well im pleased yours works for you

but the only other one i found with his psu was also not running stable

i will leave you to sort him out ok

the power requirements of any two systems would be different ... i just take a more measured logical approach starting with what appears to be a platforms biggest stumbling blocks .. in this case the K8T neo has major hurdles to overcome to be stable starting with the ram & its config / settings .. even an enermax powered system will falter if the ram isnt right .. secondly a lot of ppl are having audiology probs .. again even an enermax powered system will crash if the soundcard is the prob .. to me its just more logical to look at other causes first instead of instantly blaming an item which may oy may not solve the problem if replaced

Hi,

You have to start somewhere to help people....
Most common problems are PSU and Ram on these systems....

So testing against other components it the way to find the problem.
I repair computers on a daily basis, and the only way is mostly to replace parts until you find what's wrong....

Most think (hope) that a system will work right out of the box, works for most, but not for all....

if only everything worked out of the box ... no such chance that makes it too simple .. lol .. thats why there are engineers to repair what we screw up ... lol ..

all in all its a case of different ppl approach things from different angles .. some will say anything under 25A on 12v must be replaced asap and others like myself will say .. if it boots and runs for a while before it crashes i would test other options b4 like ram ...

my view is one of try to help someone hopefully without them needing to reach for their hard earned cash if possible .. but experience shows if a "noob" is told u need a new whatever they will no questions asked go spend even if its not required because someone told them they needed too

in the end im mean with other ppl's money .. lol .. im not an expert even if i like to think i am .. i just pass on my personal experiences and tips ive learnt from others

peace to all & happy computing

Hi,

The problem is that a lot of people go out and buy new stuff to test with.....
That's a common problem with Internet ordering like a lot of USA dude's do....

Here in Europe a lot of people use dealers to get their hardware, they are a bit more expensive but they are willing to help solving the problems and start replacing the parts for you, so you only need to buy what's needed....

I personaly never buy online, even when they are cheaper....as mostly the online shops stinks when it comes to service in case of trouble....

old saying springs to mind ... i hate this one .. lol

at the end of the day you get what you pay for

in terms of online buying i agree its usually much cheaper but the customer service stinks where as a local dealer may cost more but you always get to talk to their face and most will be very friendly and helpfull

of course the best help you can get is from ppl who are already using the product and thru their experiences and message board posts usually have help at hand and good advice

That is what we try to do....
But in the end it's all about replacing parts until you located the problem....

Sometimes it's windows or drivers, but that's very rare these day's
Windows and drivers have come a long way, and most versions are very good and stable...

Another thing is Win64, but that will change pretty soon....(I hope) :hypecrite:

enough small talk...... Help me

I?m trying to make this memtest86. I downloaded it and folowed the instructions, I made the disk to boot with. It will boot and a bluescreen apears but then, suddenly the system restarts. Any ideas?

Well we where doing that....sort off :hypecrite:

I would try a better powersupply first....one with lot's of amps at 12V...

The rebooting is a Windows setting that you can turn off...
