I really like my MSI Z690 Tomahawk WIFI DDR5 12700K build with the 4070Ti- built about 2 months ago. At the time a 3080 cost 100 to 170 more and a 3090ti was or better than $1000 more. I will not call some liars- but I searched every place on the net here in America and the 4070Ti I bought new @ 810.00 was lower cost than both- and of the lowest cost 4070ti and has 3 fans vs only 2- and has a metal backplate- also comes with a anti sag bracket. I used the stand I already had. looking at new right now- 3080 low brand names are right at 800.00. The 3080ti 1200-over1300- the 3090ti 1500- over1900. I do not buy from ebay or no name places. The 4070Ti outperforms the 3080-80ti and runs near the 3090ti and beats it in a few games- tho the 3090ti has 2x the bus speed and memory. The 4070Ti runs cooler and uses less electricity than both the 3080 and 3090ti and the fans do not run crazy loud either. Granted- yes- would I prefer it cost 100- 150 less- but I think a lot of people lie- say they buy 3080 etc for less than the 4070Ti and just want to flame Nvidia or something- or maybe they are buying used cards or low name stuff or could be good deal/ sale on ebay or something- but is/was not typical when I was buying. I dont trust any of ebay or low name stuff.
I know from research even before buying- benches said 4070Ti runs with the 3090Ti @ better than 1000 less in cost. The 4070Ti is great compared to what is out- if your budget can handle it. I moved up from my last system 6700K 1080 and Windows 10 @ 1440p. My Z690 Tomahawk WIFI DDR5 12700k system runs sweet. With its new 4K 1ms 144hz monitor my games run nice and most all settings on ultra with DLSS Quality and Ray Trace on and 25-40% sharpen and AA16x- off vsync and off head-bob and off motion blur. I use Gsync- it works tho the monitor does not say it supports it. I do not use HDR- this monitor is not the best at it- tho the monitor is of the Top5 list at ratings.c om @less than 650.00. At the time DDR5 was near the same price as DDR4 and the DDR5 mobo has 1225v 6E. the DDR4 board is not 6E. XTU 100% CPU 72-75C on air- nice. I read the CPU hold-down bracket can be probs- and the onboard Intel 1225-26v lan can be chit on All 690-790 mobos. So I preempted and bought the extra lan for wired- and the anti cpu bending plate for the build.
So far the hardest game on it is Cyberpunk 2077- in game bench says 66 FPS Average- 44 FPS Min.- 95 FPS Max- in game is more like 70-75 @ 4K Ultra settings- DLSS Frame Generation on- DLSS Super Resolution quality- DLSS Sharpness 25%- AA 16x- Ray Trace all on- Ray Traced Lighting medium- runs nice smooth and looks awesome- with no ray trace it runs like 115fps. Doom Eternal all Ultra and higher settings 198FPS. God of War 120-130FPS. Guardians of the Galaxy 110-125FPS both with higher settings than cyberpunk. I crank the settings for the most part. I do not play mp or competitively- so I am not pressed for high fps. I like the pretty graphics and enjoy the game worlds etc. I am tweaking the settings all the time so fps might go lower. If runs smooth and no probs recording I am good.
Looking now on Tweaktown- at Cyberpunk 2077 benches with an AMD 5900x and multi gpu' all settings maxed- with no DLSS or FSR and no Ray Trace- @ 4K
Cyberpunk 2077 Benchmarked, Again: v1.5 Update With Built-In Benchmark (tweaktown.com)
Average->
3090- 47fps
3080ti- 46fps
I do think DLSS 3 is only on the 4000 cards might be part- but my bench with DLSS and Ray Trace on is a bit higher and is lovely. Just Awesome. I like.
