D3052 compatible with 9950x3D?

Is the MSI D3052(D3052GB2N-25G) Server uATX Motherboard compatible with AMD Ryzen 9 9950x3D? If I need a bios update, can I update with no CPU?

The QVL for the motherboard lists 9950x, but not 9950x3D.

It's unclear wether it supports the X3D model. There is a very recent BIOS update from a month ago, which is usually a good sign for supporting current CPUs. But as you said, the AVL/QVL doesn't list X3Ds. Maybe the QVL is just older and hasn't been updated. But it will be a bit of a gamble.

There is no way to flash the BIOS without the system already being able to boot to BIOS. Unless maybe with an external flash programmer, but i think that isn't what you had in mind. So worst comes to worst, you will have to temporarily use an already supported CPU, do the update, and then it's also not guaranteed that the new CPU will work in it.

Server products value stability over compatibility, so it is likely that X3D CPUs did not pass internal tests by server standard, so they are not listed on AVL.
The other possibility is that X3D CPUs are not considered for AVL, so BIOS code might not include relative support for X3D CPUs.
It doesn't look like the server MBs have the Flash BIOS button as the PC MBs do, so you need to have a working CPU for BIOS update as Citay said.
